I am not really into voice chat in mmos. The acception is using voice for raiding or complicated group efforts. I have used in-game voice chat in a number of games including: LoTRO, D&DO, WoW and now EQ2. EQ2's voice chat in game is by far the best I have experienced. Crystal clear reception and people can talk at the same time. I just plugged my mic in and adjusted volumes and it worked no problems. Even though I am not into voice chat (tends to take me out of the emersion of the game) I will probably be using it in EQ2 because of easy of use and qualtiy of sound. I am not a huge fan of SOE but I have to say good job on this one.

have to agree with that, i am no really big fan of voicechat too, but the eq2 implementation seems to be very easy to use and worked very well right from logging in first time after update (i did not have to do any adjustments).
From the last few groups I was in I would but it at about 50% usage.
I am unguilded but when I was we did use Vent/TS alot and can not help but think that the EQ2 voice chat really needs some form of room tree asside form the current set up so that you can see where people are at.
another thing that I noticed while raiding. Since it is an ingame chat service it does not kill the imersion to the extent external services do.
The little chat bubbles that indicate who is speaking as well as freeing up a players hands to /emote really added to some pretty funny exchanges while mending.
