Uhh, if you have to reinstall one of them, Vanguard.
Vanguard really has come a very long way. Everything about it has improved. That said, while it's different, it's not completely different. If you loved the _idea_ of Vanguard back then but were put off by its numerous, glaring technical failings, it might be a good time to revisit it. If you outright hated everything about Vanguard, I doubt your mind will be changed now.
If you already uninstalled Conan out of frustration, now is not the time to come back. I don't hate Conan, but nobody can deny that it still has tons of work to be done. It may end up one of the most awesome games, eventually. Funcom is a good studio, I think, and it's capable of doing good things. They just seem to have the worst MMORPG launches ever. Go back to Conan in six months time, I say. Maybe even a year, if you want to see the game's true promise, rather than a ragged husk.
Depends what you look for in a game
There really isn't any question. Conan is not complete and buggy and seems to get worse with every patch. If the choice is between aoc and vg it is simple one. vg definely is better then aoc overall.

I sub to both (recently came to Vanguard) and based on what I have seen so far, I would go with Vanguard as long as you enjoy PvE. It is a very solid game these days. I do think Conan will follow a similar path and be a very good game one day. Just not today.
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Back when VG came out I leveled a sorcerer to 50, got my diplo to 400+ and my weaving to around 30ish.
Finish my legendary helm quest in rahz inkur or whatever that zone was, then got my legendary necklace from the pyramid place....then ran out of stuff to do really, no raid bosses were in so my guild left the game.
Playing AoC now...but I have run out of stuff to do there as well. I really enjoyed VG and if they would have had more end game content I know I would have played it for a while...is there a lot more content for higher levels in now?
They have added a lot of new end game content: Ancient Port Wharehouse, overland raids, the griffon quest (reward griffon mount), and high end faction mounts and armor. They are re-doing the entire Pantheon of the Ancients dungeon and it will also be high end. I think most of the content the developers have planned is for end game.
Both games have lied to their customers and released unfinished games, Vanguard EPICALLY so, AoC was a playable, if incomplete, game.
Giving these people one penny on means this will continue to happen in the future.

I tried the 10 free trial few days ago and it was utterly B-O-R-E-I-N-G. I quit within the week and said forget it.

Both are great imo.
Vangaurd had that awesome feel about it but conan has the best combat system i have played.
we need Congaurd. put conan combat with vanguard maps/lore.
Vanguard has been improved , nice game but the trial is simply boring.
Really BORING.

I agree. I've played Vanguard and it was as dull as hell. It looked like crap too. I havent played AoC yet but if you have quit already then why would you want to go back to it? From what I hear its no different to any other basic mmo.......but then thats probably the problem isnt it. There arent any decent online games around apart from EVE and if you dont like spaceships then your screwed basicly.

Looked like crap? What settings did you have it on? Low settings it does look like crap but Max it looks great. Soon their will be a character model revamp so it will look even better.
To the OP, I suggest to try it out for yourself...... People need to stop listening to others and try the game out for your self.... I bet half the people who didnt try the game cuz somone said it sucked would have liked it. Dont be a sheep man think for yourself.

Yeah I asked for one but didnt get one. I soon looked around and found out that SOE was giving 10 days free play time to Vanguard so I tried it out without any buddy key needed.

Yeah I've heard the "it must have been on low settings" and "maybe it was your computer" thing before. I had it on almost maximum settings and my computer was more than capable of running the game. Other mmos look fine. In some parts the landscape actually looked rather nice and the fact that you can see for a miles gets a big thumbs up for me. The lighting was rather nicely done as well. However in other areas I found the gameworld to look dreadful and there was just this dead and empty feeling everywhere I went, as though the game wasnt finished or fully fleshed out. Also anti-aliasing seemed to be a very weak point but worst of all were the absolutely horrificly ugly character models. Whoever designed and built those models needs to be shot! As your character is something you see all the time its a shame that they were so badly made and looked like ugly plastic dolls. This of course carried over to the npcs too as they also looked terrible. Like you said though they will be getting a revamp soon so hopefully they might look half decent. Lets hope they fix those crap excuses for hairstyles! Apart from that it seemed like a very standard static mmo that really didnt seem to offer anything new. The diplomacy side-game was very dull and badly implemented in my opinion too........repeating fixed conversations with npcs that you have no influence over until you win so you can move onto the next block of text seemed really pointless to me.

Vanguard has improved ALOT many don't like to admit it for some reason.wouldn't kill you to give it a try again. AoC on the other hand i quit that as well and haven't read anything that would make me go back yet hope they fix that but doesn't look it

Get your facts strait Strumrabe. Before vanguard released they told everyone that they ran out of money and this is the game we are releasing. They even dropped there NDA before release , so if you bought vanguard and didnt like it ,it was nobody's fault but there own.
Now funcon on the other hand is a bunch of lying POS. i wont ever deal with funcon myself i never have and now i never will

Another point of difference is that Vanguard was released by sigil who did hype the game some but as has been said was also pretty up front about that they were out of money and it was release it or shut it down.
SoE had nothing to do with the release other then bailing sigil out and hosting the game for them. SoE after sigil died picked the game up and kept a small engineering staff going on fixing the game. Since then it has improved remarkably and they have been pretty open with the community about what they are doing and what challenges they are facing.
Funcom on the other had has raised deceptive marketing, hyping and out and out lying to a new level. AoC to this day is stumbling along and funcom is only slowly starting to acknowledge that things are not fine... Although I think they are still hyping the next big patch that will fix everything right around the corner....

Was in both beta on VG and AoC that I did not purchase the game. WAR on the other hand will get my purchase as I did with WoW.
Without trying out the game is no purchase from me and many other. It upto you to purchase the game as you all knows that word from any mmorpg business is never enough.
Forgot to mention EQ2 that I did not purchase but did purchase EQ as Verant invited me to try out Rallozek way back in 1999 before it was in $ony paws.
