WAR is not a PvE game. PvP is end game with small amounts of PvE. You'll have to stick to WoW or EQ if you want that Sword of One-Shot Kills.
Eh? the whole reason for RvR is to do a PvE raid(aka "kill the King") so i think end game raid encounters will give the best loot and will remain very important.

No, you are very wrong. If you played DAoC you would know that people rvr for fun, getting loot from the king is just icing on the cake. And in DAoC fighting WAS fun, I hope in WAR will be similar.

Let me guess, you've been playing WoW a lot.
You have to let go of the idea that getting the best items is the point of MMORPG's..
There *is* less end game content now than I was expecting a few months ago
true, which is sad. But they have the end game system in, just not as much diversity as we would like. but there IS an endgame, and if people can play the same WSG every 10min for a few years, then I think I can deal with only 2 cities to siege.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
there needs to be end game content neeeeeeeeeeeeeds
What AoC learned from Vanguard is that it is a bad thing to drop your NDA and let people know the state of your game if its not finished. What they also learned is that its bad to be honest with people like Brad McQuaid did and tell them before release that your game is unfinished. "raw," and one should not buy your game if your looking for a polished product. They also learned from vanguard that it is bad to release an unfinished game with no marketing to drown out the noise.
Rather Funcom learned that it is best to hide how bad your game is, refuse to release the NDA, outright lie, hire people like Avery to spread propoganda all day long over forums like these and spend huge amounts of money buyinbg good reviews and hyping your game.
What this gained funcom was about $50 millon in initial sales rather than the $10 millon they would have gotten if they were honest. But when its all said and done they are now roughly in the same position vanguard was for total subscribers 2 months after release and quickly heading towards 20-50k total subscribers.
Yes they made a quick dishonest $50 million but now they have a dead game. They might as well just rename it Dark and Light 2.
why should there be a separation between pvp and other? why not have combinations of all elements together stressed on fun and character abilities (whatever that may be implemented) rather than having omg pvp endgame > pve FTL. You guys have the wrong mentality. You leave room for innovation not hate.
No, you do. If you want PvE to get the best items, so you can own in PvP, too bad. That's WoW. In WAR the mentality is for all players to be balanced. Not one player having a 200 DPS weapon going against some poor soul using a 100 DPS. That's only fun for one guy.
Mythic has said there will be PvE end-game content, but the best rewards will come from PvP. I'm hoping the stay true to having all players being balanced like in DAoC.
pve for the best items? who said anything about a game needs the best items? as the game progresses it expands with innovation not the best items doh. Look here, innovation does not equate to pve and having the best items, ok? calm down and drink less coffee.
The end game is actually a cool synergy of PvE and RvR, with both aspects relying on each other. In this way, every sort of player can have fun and is useful.
You need the PvE element to unlock parts of the RvR element, and you need the RvR element to unlock parts of the PvE element. If everyone in your realm just did PvE, you would never siege a city, and thus never have access to the best PvE dungeons and PQs with the best loot. If everyone just did RvR, you would lose out on a lot of points rewarded for participating in PvE that contribute to zone control and such.
The nice thing about the end game is that is less static than that of other MMORPGs. In WoW, once you farm Illidan, you are done. I suppose there is the arena, but that does not affect anything on a global scale, it is simply about how high a number you obtain. In WAR, there is always going to be ongoing conflict on both a small scale and a large scale, so there is always something to attack and defend. Also, the Renown Ranks system basically allows for longterm growth of characters, sort of like AA in EverQuest.
Anyway, I would not start worrying for nothing until you play for yourself. Without first-hand experience it makes no sense to fret or bash over speculation.
How about a simple shovel that does no damage at all but allows you to be underground for 10 seconds to perhaps lay a trap or ambush (20 seconds) or get out of harms way temporarily (5 seconds)? why does it necessarily mean "best" items? how about a whip that has a chance to be used as a tether line? .. "get over here" mortal kombat style (range summoner).
You with your... keep ur pve thinking outa warhammer cuz nobody messes wit da hamma... need more innovative thinking.

Well unless they lied and the beta leaks have lied and the people at conventions have lied...we are going to have our endgame content.

I'm sorry but the game is built around pvp, if anything sucks its going to be getting to 40 not the endgame.
There's tons of endgame and it's fun to do as well.
Well unless they lied and the beta leaks have lied and the people at conventions have lied...we are going to have our endgame content.
That depends how you look at it.

Yeah, Mythic sacked four cities themselves and when Mythic pillage, it wil lthey months to reset them.

so the endgame is pvp... and five years from now the endgame for uberfest 3000 is ... pvp, how original.
What would you wait from PvP orietned game ?

well describe what you want??
cause just saying "innovation"doesnt really mean anything its like Obma saying "change"
