"No raiding or PvE endgame. PvP is fine for many people but a lot of people do not want a 100% PvP but rather want and need PvE goals" I'd like to mention that WAR is a PvP game first, and a PvE game second. In all honesty, it might not have the kind of "raiding" that you might be mentioning. Remember the days of Molten Core? That's not gonna happen with WAR. It WILL have high (or cap) level dungeons and lairs for you to explore and conquer, bit its not going to require you and 39 of your buddies (or 24 of them) to go and get them done. The biggest PvE group, for a dungeon so far, has been capped at 6 party members, including yourself. If you really want that kind of experience, follow Richard Kaplan.
Actually, In some recent interviews, it has been said by the WAR Devs that there will be end-game pve content, as to not alienate those players who prefer it. They also have said that there will be some 24-man dungeons.
Anyways, back on topic. My Concerns:
1. Community: I'm hoping the whole Realm togetherness aspect of the game will inspire camaraderie, however I can't very well expect this from everybody. Case in point: WOW.
2. I'm a little worried about Guilds, mainly cuz I wanna make one of my own, but at the same time I dont wanna get stuck in the shadow of the big huge guilds.
The only raids I have heard of are when ya take control of an enemy city. Two capital city raids is not real progression raiding. So no real raiding. Some endgame PvE single group dungeons but it sounds like not much more than a week or two of endgame PvE content. If am wrong and they are actually putting in progression raiding let me know. I know many guilds that would move to Warhammer, that unfortunately will not now, if there was actual progression raiding. Which is a shame as Warhammer is such a good and promising game.
Biggest concern is mindless zerg chaotic battles where nobody knows what is going on and people just kill and get killed with no end.
This is my biggest concern also. At least when it concerns the side I'm playing on at the time. If the enemy doesn't know what's going on then I'm all for it.
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.
Community. I already see myself on the battlefield with hordes of lolpwnd-kids running around mindlessly not caring for anything but their "fragz". The reward for tactical victories has to be stunning so that people WANT to work together.
Biggest concern for me is gear dependency. I hope WAR has found the perfect combination of skill and gear. Some games require gear to much (WoW) and it becomes just a sink hole of time, which gives casual gamers a huge disadvantage on the battlefield .On the other hand some games make gear matter to little (AOC) and it makes dungeon runs and difficult quests a waste of time since going for that epic item you wanted on your character very un-rewarding.
Putting my chips on Mythic that they have found a good balance.
P.S - only using those two games as examples as they are the ones I have spent the most time on.
the premium 1 problem of gear-policy in modern EverWoWesque-MMOGs is the "uber-sword". Item A has a certain type of bonus with a certain value. Item B has exactly this type of bonus while the value is doubled. So you can virtually dump your old sword the moment you get the new one.
Now what some MMOs in the past and certain modern ones (hello EvE) tried to do is: They tried to give items a paper, scissors, stone profile. So you can get that uber-sword, but the stats and bonuses are tactical, so the wielder is FORCED to play a certain way, leaving a good opponent the possibility to use this to his advantage.
Personally I think WAR focused so much on balanced classes and abilities, they will perfectly know that its a total bummer to meet lord_dreadknight who raided the loomy caves 6 million times and pwns everyone by mashing 3 buttons all - day - long. That's what frequently happened in WoW BFs and Arena - You see the guy, you attack, you see the red 8913 rising above your head, you die... yay
My biggest concern is that I'll play it 24/7, my girlfriend leaves me, I lose my job and I start to become a half elf, half dwarven type creature with pointy ears and a massive ginger beard.
no worries there. you'll fit in nicely with migrant workers picking fruit and you won't be able to afford to play games on the internet so you're life will become balanced.
That it will be too much of a game, and not enough of a world.
It is easy to play a game, but most do not immerse you at all. Worlds have a high level of immersion, but sometimes are not good to play. Hitting the key balance is what I am worried about for WAR. Right now for launch it is probably just fine, with two large cities, countless zones and PvE/RvR encounters. What will tell the tale is which direction it goes in the future - will they try to maintain balance, or continue to push in the direction of WAR being a game?
Exactly. When I think of the lure of games I loved (EQ1, DAOC), it was the world, just as I wished I could enter Middle Earth after reading Tolkien's books.
But WAR, polished as it sounds, could end up being one giant artificial arena, with zones designed specifically around this play. And such is not a world, but only a game. And games get old fast.

Well said! that is the main reason I quit WoW right there.
I just hope WARs end game turns out alright and the battle system feels right.
Guild Wars for example I didn't like how the battle system worked for some reason it was boring to me.
My concern is that they release it to early with buggs and to litle content like AoC and Vanguard. Most MMOs do that mistake and recent cuts doesnt make me feel any better. I still hope they move it back until we get all cities.
As long as they release a finnished game with big content they will deliver.

5. XP in PvE being to fast where one can reach max PvE levekl in 3-5 days played like other super fast leveling games like Vanguard and WoW. Or even worse the easiest PvE game of them all AoC where people can reach max level in 1 day played
Did you even play Vanguard lawl ... game did not level fast at all.. AoC on the other hand was very quick.
Lack of PvE - I've noticed a lot of people concerned about this and so am I, PvP is fine specially on a game based on RvR but sometimes I like to be anti-social and quest by myself with out needing someone elses help.
Assuming: PvE is plentiful with really great content but not enough people PvEing making it hard to find groups for quests that require help - This one I am not the upmost concerned about but it's still a concern noneless as you are able to gain Experiance during PvP this could potentially lessen the number of people actually doing PvE.
One sided PvP Example (I hate to do it but it's the best example) World of Warcraft one side usually domanates the other such as Horde always decimate Alliance in Battlegrounds - This can really be a buzz killer for me as I get frustrated easly by losing constantly though this is based mainly from the skill of your fellow team mates but still a concern.
Server Preformance - Specially in RvR server preformance is a must.
End Game - Now this could be the main problem with WAR, so far and this is my opinion only, the end game out look for WAR is PvP with very little PvE, this could cause problems for Hard Core players who love raids.
Unbalanced Classes: Overpowered Vs. Nurfed - I know this is going to be a problem, no MMORPG has achieved perfect class balance but hopefully WAR will be the first or atleast close.
I'm in beta but I'll try to skirt the NDA on this. There is an unbelievable amount of content in this game and most of the fun stuff is group based even if most of it can be done in open groups. With 300+ PQs, multiple dungeons, 12+ RvR zones, 20+ PvP scenarios spread out over 40 ranks of play. I'm very worried that during off hours a few months after release it will be hard to find players to do a large chunk of this content because so much of them will be focused in T4 zones.
I don't see how this game can possibly be as fun on a server with only 400 players as one with 2000 players. They need to be really careful with opening of new servers etc.
The other worry is that it would be very easy for the RvR to be compromised by unbalanced factions. If a server has 1000 destruction online and only 500 order prime time it is going to cause problems in the open world RvR and that will drive those order players into more fair scenarios and just cause a messed up server in general.
I have no worries at all about the basic game, it is going to be the next big thing without a doubt in my mind (and no I havent' said that about anything since WOW). I just worry that they can keep the playerbase focused properly to make it all run smoothly down the line.
GOA. Americans er saved, Europeans is NOT. We are stuck with GOA for now.
Its support is lacking badly, attitude against player are ignorent
+ bad knowledge in the GOA staffs knowledge in servers + network.
+ You get replys "still" in france from GOA soo called support !!?
+ When Mythic released a new patch for DAoC, there was always a delay on the European servers, just like with the newsletter for WAR.
I never seen soo bad service
However, Gamemasters from GOA -> When you actually get to speak with them and its a problem ingame(they can fix general problems mostly) they can provide some help, but too get in contact with a GM ingame is soo rare thing.
Beside the PR from GOA is.............Anyway - if GOA want a good reputation they have to worked for it this time.

my worries
1. Super high monthly fee
2.Not having the system requirements (hopefully i do, it was a 2000$ laptop but its 2, almost 3 years old )
3.Population imbalance

Try the Keep Sieges, they have a PvE element, the Keep Lords, which are like high end Raid bosses.
Currently restarting World of Warcraft
Well, Progressive Raising, IMHO isn't all that fun. WAR is trying to stay away from that. People want fun, not a second job.
This is my biggest concern also. At least when it concerns the side I'm playing on at the time. If the enemy doesn't know what's going on then I'm all for it.

Biggest concens,
1) Class imbalances.
2) Server population imbalances.
3) Gear dependency.
3) Lack of PvP progression and additional content being added after release.
4) Stability of servers. Lag issues in Oceanic region.

That the game turns out to be just another cookie-cut level based grind fest like the rest of the clones!
Well said! that is the main reason I quit WoW right there.

I have more but thats the bigger stuff.
Server load and population balance.

the community. yes i said it...i hate the most vocal group (you all know who they are) and they will flock to this game like flies to a dead horse.
anyway looking forward to playing but i can forsee some problems with the community down the track
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
