Well I have a CE pre-ordered and decided that i'm going to sell it on ebay as a pre-sell. I'll send the pre-order codes when the bidding ends (open beta, extra items, etc...) and the actual CE game a day after release.
I'm putting it up on ebay later today for 150$ starting bid and 250$ buyout. Probably Free shipping.
Here's where the fun comes in: Place your bets on the price it's going to sell for!
Do you think i'll get the full 250 or absolutely nothing?!

i'll post a link to the ebay thing once i put it up
For those who care, people are currently bidding in the $150-$160 range for the game, plus about $25 S/H. That's just the game -- people are asking in some cases well over $300 for the game plus the preorder codes.
On one hand, that's INSANE.
On the other hand, so long as you're clear about what you're selling, there's nothing wrong with taking whatever money people are willing to pay you for it. Anyone who gets mad at you for selling it is probably just jealous that you have one you're not gonna USE, while they can't even order one.
How much will you get for it? Hm... yeah, $150, about twice the going rate, sounds about right. Since you're selling it with the beta codes... there's a chance someone might see your $250 against the other auctions' $300, $350, one's $400... and might just jump.
That guy would be an idiot -- especially if Fileplanet's going to offer a beta run themselves -- but that's not your problem.
If you have no problem with ripping unbeknowst consumers off, then you should be fine. As long as you explicity outline what they are getting, and when they are getting it. Having an auction up now for and item that you don't have yet could cause some problems. Considering that nobody knows the real release yet, you could be sitting on an ended auction for who knows how long. A lot of people that are willing to purchase a $80 CE game, aren't all that reasonable; so odds are they wouldn't take "I don't have it yet" as a vaild excuse.
All specculation, take it however you want. Just outlining potential problems I would run into, I have nothing but bad luck.

This is a forum not a shop ...
me says lock this ...
If he links to his auction, then yes, I think it would have to be locked. Until then I doubt the mods would lock it.
FAIL! u get nothing!
Finwe on microphones in MMOs: "it'd eliminate l33t speak....But it would bring in ebonics."
That would suck, indeed, but as long as it's clear that it's a pre-sell pre-order, it really shouldn't be a problem.
HEY at least i'm trying!
Whatever I get from this goes towards an xbox 360!
It's against Ebay's T&C to sell something more than 30 days before it's launch date so you would need to wait a couple of weeks otherwise you could get a strike.
"Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it."
There are still collectors editions out there. I went and bought one about 20 min ago when I heard the release and the guy said they still had 3 more.
Anyone reading this, just go buy the CE yourself and save the money and grief that you would go through with Ebay and this OP. He probably already entered his beta code and therefore won't be able to give you that anyone, as it would be a duplicate. There are still copies of the CE left.
My god do people have no scruples anymore. I just looked at eBay and they have some guy trying to hawk a CB account. Then another jack hole has CE for sale for almost 500.00 bucks and also violated the Mythic (TM) by publishing all the specs as the ad with their artwork. I ran across several copies in of CE for sale all over town. (Seattle)
Get a job folks and earn some honest money GeeZ!!!
I just put mine up. I won't say which but yeah, it's up.
Hell no, you can still get the CE at retail price in some stores why would somebody pay 250$?

Right because everyone lives in Seattle thus they should be able to find one anywhere
Like it or not there are lots of places where its completely sold out
If you have tons of money instead of worrying about getting in line , or finding something for hours online , you buy one from someone with a high rating and have it shipped to you
You paid them what the market dictates for the trouble of doing it for you -
Nothing wrong with it - some people just like to whine if some are smart enough to know to order several of a hot commodity and sell it at a profit
God forbid -
