I'm not a fanboi of it, but I did like it. It ran like crap so I left. The concept was awesome and the game play (when I could play) was fun.

I feel like playing it every now and then, but i can't bring myself to do it.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Which will it be...EQ2 or WoW?

I quit Horizons shortly after reaching lvl 60 as a healer, would probably still be playing but my rl bro who was playing along side me was forced to quit due to his internet connection.  He had moved and his new 56k connect couldn't keep him connected.  Anyone know if there game runs any better on 56, and also is there any demand for a healer yet in the game?

Horizons by and large still has the same issues it had at launch. Namely horrible, awful, unbelievable network lag. In most games lag means a few seconds of inactivity at worst, in Horizons it means minutes of sitting idle, and often. Also every patch they seem to break so much stuff it's ridiculous. Not small stuff either like 1 ability not working quite right, but huge game stoppers like ALL buffs not working, monsters not spawning or even large numbers of people not able to login! These two deal breakers combined with the fact it's a pretty mediocre game to begin with explains Horizons horrible rep and ever lower populations.

Sounds like it is time to just put this pony down...for good.

There still many people that like this game so why do you want to ruin the fun for them.

I don't play the game anymore, you clearly don't but some do and like it.

Let us(the people who do not like the game) move on and do our thang and let those that do enjoy themselves shall we.

I played HZ in beta and pre-ordered it.

I pulled friends and guild-mates into the game, not to mention my wife.

I ended up quitting the game, as did everyone I asked to come to it.

The map graphics are beautiful; truely outstanding.

The models are really good depending on the model.  The layer (grey guy) issues from what I understand still exists and always will due to they way they layer graphics on the toon.

Tazoon is still too laggy due to the way they load the graphics; it's too much.  The city will never be used for what it was used for; and in fact the way they designed the game killed the city in the first place.

Building anything takes too much work.  It seemed really cool; until you try to bulid a consigner shop and only have 3 of you doing the work.  Talk about grind...I come to play an MMORPG to *PLAY* and not work.

I think some aspects of HZ are really good; and I think some aspects of Shadowbane are really good.  Shadowbane sucks as a PvP game IMO, and so would HZ.  But, take out PVP and merge the two games into one and I think you'd have a really decent game.

I also want to add that I was on the HZ bandwagen when they began.  It was supposed to be this incredible game.  But, it lost funding was on the verge of becoming vapor ware when they grabbed by Atari.

Now, they're sold again -- this is the step-child that no one seems to want.  And, to top it off they're merged servers.

I'm not sure if I want to check out the game again.

I'm getting pretty bored with what's out there and am being sorely dissappointed in the designs of MMORPGs in general.  I mean, I've played a number of them; have guilds and friends that have gome form game to game with me.  You'd think that these guys would *know* what makes a good game and what doesn't?  You'd think they'd take a look and see what folks like.  And, no, folks dont' like PvP; some do, maybe more in limited fashion; but that's not where the bulk of your $ will come from.

anyway, guess I'll just have to win big at the lottery and make my own damned mmorpg....

But,first it was very boring.Imagine the EQ way of a druid kiting and remove the spells and give bow.You got the archer.Unlike a caster in EQ kiting with different mix of spells(dots, snares, roots,DD) which can be boring this is double boring doing it as an archer since there is not much to think about and no effects.
Anyhow i found this the only way to solo so accepted it.But then the nerf bat hit the archers and kiting was a nightmare. It can be done but much harder and since its boring as it is levelling was very slow.
I tried grouping since i like grouping at heart but here was the popular response
1)we are logging soon.1 minute after saying that they would invite a zerker or a healer./hmm
Seems the archer is not much use in a group which makes it double stupid to nerf them since archers have to rely on soloing.
Well after the 10 days return deal i have decided not to go back to horizons as a paying customers and will instead go play CoH and planetside till EQ2 and WoW arrives.

Wow, I mean WOW, this sounds exactly like a ranger from EQ. Except you don't find out how useless your char is untill you reach lvl 50 and NO ONE wants you in their group. Playing a ranger Permanently jaded me towards EQ. Basically if you want to be successful in the end game you have to pick a class that is accepted amoungst the elitest scum that inhabit this game.. It 's disgusting..

COH on the other hand I routinely group with similar classes .. for instance here were some succesful groups I've had through respec tf and regular tf..

    Respec:

    3 controllers

    2 scrappers

    2blasters

    1 defender (empath)

    Bastion TF..

    4 controllers

    2 tankers

    1 blaster

well those are the only 2 I remember

What's cool is the respec had 3 illusion controllers (3 phantom armies..cool)

oops.. I don't even remember what this topic is...

the game itself is very fun IMO. the company sucks bad. free trial billing and such. heard peeps were getting billed 20-30 times b/c game acted like it wasn't taking players info so they would reenter and be billed for every time they reentered.lol. the game is good, they developers and such are the worst i EVER seen and i class myself as a very avid gamer. name a MMO and i have most likely played it.

stay away just for piece of mind. a shame, i enjoyed the game

I played Horizons for 5 months then left after everything seemed to fall to pot. I loved the game, though at times whacking a node became as boring as whacking the silly wolf. After 6 months away from the game i went back.

The game still looks so pretty. But they moved everything about so i am totaly lost. Yeah they changed it like they said they did but now there are even more vast areas with no mobs. Did they hide the mobs and forget to tell me where they are stashed? Maybe I am just having a hard time getting back into the game. Even the fan sites have fallen apart. Information is scares.

yes there were more open plots than my ranger could shake her bow at. I couldn't find a wolf for the life of me (woot). There are many crafting nodes all over of every teir i could have ever asked for. yep i could craft my heart out. I just was not able to find the "better, more robust or more interesting" of Mr. Bowman's "confidence". I do not mean to sound snide or rude. I just do not see what he wrote about.

I wish they could get it together and make this game work. After this months subscription is over i think it will be the last time i look at the game. This truely does sadden me as i waited almost 5 years for it to come out. I was so excited. I even went back 6 months later to give it a second chance....

never again will i wish for a games quick release no matter how badly i would like to play it and how awesome it sound

never again will i read an e-mail sent to me by a game i used to play LOL
