d2drive .com, Release Date and Open Beta

Just had a look over at D2Drive and they are taking pre orders for the regular edition AND offering open beta access. I thought open beta was offered only for CE? It also states you get the head start as well starting September 15th, with the actual launch date being Sept 18th. Any thoughts on this? Should I even bother to pre order from them?

Yup D2D is a good service and I've used it about 15 times in the past.

The Standard Edition (which includes the digital verison) comes with early access and some extra items + open beta.

The CE comes with all of that but some extra quest titles and extra in game faces + all crap in the box that noone really cares about.

I think having extra faces in the CE is abit shit really cause you just know for the normal version of the game everyone else will be limited to like 4 different faces while the CE will have more choices........ just think thats abit wrong really.

Only bonus a CE should have is all the crap in the box., no extra in game items.

I really don't know and this stuff can change.. but I know back on July 24th (or around there) ebgames was mailing out emails that started off with:

"We Reckon You'll Want to Order This One

Ships September 23; in stores September 24!

Based on your purchase history with us, we thought you might enjoy Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning."

CONFIRMED! I just pre ordered and a few minutes later I got my open beta key, head start notice and pre order items. D2Drive has always been good to me in the past, I just didn't know if they labeled this wrong.

    Go pre order!

Yes, D2D doesn't  offer refunds. The good thing about D2D is you don't have to pay for them to save your game info ............. cough EA store cough......... and with D2D you can always download for free while EA store keeps it only for 2 year's after you pay.

Personally, I wanted a box, so I got it in a store :) and I'd rather have the game box as well as the CDs, so I can stare at them when I cant play the game hehe

Currently restarting World of Warcraft :/

I'm from canada and I'm wondering where should I buy the preorder if I want to be able to cancel it if I don't like the beta? I never buy a game without trying it first

Yup, it is a shame people don't realise the tinternet is global.  But then they go on about taxes and such...

Just EU and UK screwed over again in the global game's industry thing

You seriously think any game company would purposebly lose money because they don't want to deal with a certain country? The reason they don't is probably because of annoying regulations and tons of red tape.

It's the same reason they love to deal with Canada, we have a lot of tax breaks for the computer industry. I did read somewhere though that they are in the process of doing the same in most of Europe to entice game companies to move there. Maybe they'll loosen up their regulations as well
