Confused about PW.

OK, so Mark announced CE preorders will get into closed beta sometime next week...but he mentions Preview weekend also. So does that mean this weekend is preview weekend or next weekend?. I mean it wouldn't make sense if next weekend was preview weekend because we would already be in closed beta. lol
If someone finds out let me know because i have a stupid yahoo e-mail and it flags alot of stuff as spam ><.

Preview weekend is RIGHT before open beta I beleive. As in, it has nothing to do with the CE getting in CB.

A CE preorder specific weekend is planned though named Preview weekend. Where only CE preorders get in then they fill the rest in with closed beta players. For it to be a "Preview Weekend" wouldnt it have to be this weekend if CE preorders are getting into closed beta next week?.
And yeah it kinda does have something to do with CE getting into closed beta. Since im guessing this Preview weekend will happen BEFORE we go into closed beta.
3) Regarding the pre-order, Collector’s Edition and the Standard Edition, I’m pleased to announce that we will be holding a special “Preview Weekend” in addition to the normal Open Beta. Those people who pre-ordered the CE will be given priority entrance into the PW. You will need to download the client (of course) from one of several download options, none of which will require any additional payment of any kind. Once the CE buyers have had their chance to register and download the client, we will allow our Closed Beta testers into the PW as well. We would like to have around 100K people load testing and playing the game so depending on how many CE purchasers sign up for this, we will invite other people into the PW as well.

Its not about the game being finished at all, since any kind of playtime either now or in 2 weeks or tomorrow is simply just a preview with limited content.
It just seems more logical that since CE were getting into the closed beta that PW would be the 1st weekend we get in. Because CE has "priority in this so called PW"
So maybe it is next weekend but i cant see the reason for saying "OK CE gets into closed beta for a weekend and then we are going to Open beta. What would be the point of saying we get into closed beta and get a Preview weekend?. Wouldnt it be just one or the other?.
Also it does have something to do with us being in closed beta, in case you misread it said they will invite more closed beta testers for the Preview weekend to "Stress test". So there you have it...
Well lets just hope that GOA pull fingers out of butts in time so us Euros can actually inut out preorder codes and take part...

I think the 'we will allow our CB testers in....' is offering some confusion. Unless I've missed a post somewhere, pre-orders get OB access. CB is still by invite. The weekend before the OB is active, they will have this special PW and the pre-orders will get access to to this. Think of the PW as a 2 (or 3) day head start to OB only but because the CE buyers paid more (presumably) THEY will get special invites to the PW first, access to downloads of the client early and so on. THEN the CB testers will be invited in with the expectation of 100K users total for the weekend to stress test. I would assume if the total number of CE/CB takers does not equal the 100K required, the Standard pre-orders will be in line for the next round of invite to the PW. In the event that 100K CB/CE users is met (likely, IMO) the Standard Ed pre-orders would be in line to log in 3 days (unless server tweaks are required) later in any event when the OB opens.
My guess too would be that the CB testers will be wiped or limited to certain servers which will have the appropriate level/content caps applied.
So all in all, the way I see it is CE will get a 3 days head start in OB over Standard though some lucky Standards will get in on a first come first serve (limited) basis.

Aye you did miss a post, a very important one for CE buyers here is #5 from the post from Mark jacobs.
5) Regarding the pre-order, Collector’s Edition and the Standard Edition, we are pleased to announce that we will also be inviting our pre-order CE buyers into our Closed Beta test starting next week. There will still be some hardware spec requirements (but they are much lower than our current requirements) since we are still in Closed Beta but we expect that the vast majority of our PO CE buyers will meet the lowered requirements. We gotten a lot of feedback from the community on this point over the last few weeks asking for this and we are now going to make it happen.

I did miss a post and happily did I now read it (I have the CE pre-ordered).
I would surmise that CB is unlimited access but limited in options for configuration, view, UI etc and the hardware requirements and less. CE will get the invites next week as the post says.
PW and OB will have full config but be level capped and will require a different DL than the CB which would be limited (routed) to certain server clusters specifically designated for the CB.
The PW/OB will be the full version. The PW they will use to specifically stress test the servers by adding additional 'simulated' loads to the machines, over and above what the actual players will be creating.
(Standard cluster testing).
I'm not in the CB (YET) so I can't verify the first and the 2nd and 3rd and just speculation but unless there's another post to clarify, that's how I (happily after #5) read the information.
Guys, read the post carefully. He says the CE pre-orders will get priority into the Preview Weekend, but how many were sold? Only 60,000, right? He said he wants to have around 100K people playing. That means whatever spots the CE pre-order people don't take will be FILLED by Closed Beta testers. All pre-orders allow access to Open Beta, not Closed.
At least that's how I understood it.

Wrong, CB has only limited access, basically whatever mythic wants to test is what the closed beta testers have to play. Since it is only a test.
OB only gets to give it a go till level 20 as officially stated by mythic at http://www.warhammeronline.com/preorder
Preview weekend will probably be a mix of previews say saturday "siege test" then sunday "instance test" this is just an example to show us the content it will be a mixed preview with what they want us to see during the PW... btw im guessing about this PW stuff but yeah.
Thats for Preview weekend but its confusing to think about when this is going to happen because....

Thats how I read it as well but not knowing how many CB testers there are I couldn't say for sure that all 100K would be covered by CB/pre-Ces. Some CEs may not elect or be able to do the PW for scheduling reasons and some 'nice' CBs might elect to 'allow' room for folks who havent seen the game, so some Standard users might get in as well.
