so the release is the 18 of september but i see a lot of people discussing the 15th as the day they are starting. is this the 15th of sept or aug? and if it is aug 15 when you can start is it limited to SE preorders or just general preorders? i know this is "common knowledge" but i can get a bit out of touch with the internets so could someone please enlighten this doofus that is the OP. ty and viva la war!

Actually, i believe it ships on the 16th, and releases on the 18th,takes time to ship

Generally the only ship a day early so no one can possibly get it earlier than the publisher wanted or else they could get in trouble. However, with the head start, anyone who had preodered is already playing the game so maybe they will ship the game more than a day before release.

They normally ship so that the game arrives either on the day of release or the day before.

 

They never ship actually ON the release day for obvious reasons.

How can you log in if the server is not online or if your account is not active, even if you receive your game 10 days before the launch, it won't matter, if you don't have a headstart key.

If you have cable it shouldn't be too bad. I downloaded AoC (which was about the same, iirc) and it took a couple of hours. It also depends on how they distribute it online. If they use a torrent, it could take a little longer depending on how many others have it and are seeding it.

The HS ends atleast a day or two before the servers go Live.  They won't be sending disks early, although gamestop & its warehouse folks often screw up so you never know.
