Darkfall would be perfect for your needs, mind you it won't be in beta until later this year!

He's looking for a game he can play. Not one that might come out in another year or might not come out. OP, how do you feel about space combat? Have you considerred EVE?

And no I am not trying to turn this into a Darkfall flamewar, lets stay on topic with games the OP can go play right now.

I agree. Darkfall is not a game anyone can play right now. EVE does actually fit the OPs specifications exactly though. I dont think there are any other games that do fit it actually, which is quite sad really considering mmos are supposed to be "massively multiplayer".

EVE is a good suggestion. I personally do not like it, but it has some good things and looks nice.  Your avatar is a ship too, so for some that is a big problem, although that aspect was fine for me.

Lineage 2 is as close as you can get in my opinion and that's worth spending money for. Game has "grind-like" crafting (it's sorta complex in that sense) , open PvP, it's semi "sandbox", and the economy is pretty much player ran. Its graphics is still quite beautiful even though its a few years old. New patch out also makes leveling easier. Granted, you won't enjoy the game if you don't join an academy or clan. Partying is the way to go. :t

If OP doesn't like EVE, L2 might be a good choice I agree, until DF comes out.

There's really nothing like what the OP describes out on the market today besides the games he's listed and EVE.

are you saying that L2 has complex crafting that can be compared to VG, EQ2 or SWG?

    please dont make me laugh...

  • scabzyscabzy Member UncommonPosts: 94

l2 craft isn't complexe, but it's sure effective, the only items on the market are the ones crafted and enhanced, the economy is as dynamic as it can be in a game, everything usefull exchange between players, with the new update they improved the craft system giving the possibility to craft rare/very rare/extremly rare items with colors as for all other game, possibility to craft more than you expected, getting bonus mats or items.

lineage2 is DAgame for me, just wierd to see ppl pass behind, becuz it's too hard, or chinese farmers bots piss them off, all sucessful games now have gold farmers and bots, look at aoc farmers ingame at first week, bot online at 2nd month, you play mmo you better be used to that, they are too smart for developpers.

Anarchy online if you get the expansions you can build cities and more I believe anyways try the free version first its the original no expansions unlimited trial plenty to do and it deffinatly has sandbox options, and the quests if you decide to do them actually make you think the game has depth and complexity all the newer games lack the graphics arent all that great but decent its getting a overhaul soon.
