This is what happens when a monkey humps a football

Has anyone followed the same path as I have. I was such a fanboy for this game before it came out and early into its release. I used to defend this game against all who criticized it and enjoyed my time leveling my barbarian while turning a blind eye to any flaw in the game.
After several weeks, the flaws of the game became too overbearing to pretend that they did not exist. I spent this time providing valuable feedback and constructive criticism to the game developers and the community. I eagerly awaited the pvp patch which was going to fix all of the games problems.
Finally after almost 3 months of terrible patch after terrible patch and no PVP patch in sight I realized where the game was heading. Moderators started closing threads of mine which were intended to help constructively criticize some of the games flaws so that the developers would fix the game. I made posts on how +damage gems were ruining pvp in the game by giving all classes including tanks one shot ability, how pre-loading combos was creating wacky situations where people swing at the air until the final combo attack is ready to land, and made posts about how the lack of any cross server matchmaking for minigames was causing them not to be played much if at all. All of these threads were closed by moderators to silence my attempts at helping improve the game because they dont want outsiders to know about the games flaws.
I now realize that this game has so many underlying flaws that it is basically impossible to fix them all within the next 6 months. This may or may not be a great game 6 months to a year from now, but right now it is damn terrible. Has anybody else here followed the path from fanboy, to helper, to hater?
Fanboys will try to say otherwise but many of the people leaving are not , in the fanboys view, spoiled powerleveling basement dwellers who have nothing to do but race to end game ( which AOC still says is the whole model behind the game. Get to level cap then the fun begins) The majority leaving now are those that had high hopes.
I looked at my guild forums the other day and many have left to give the game 6-12 months to mature. This is a guild with older experienced patient gamers. Heck one that left was an obnoxious fanboy who would eat sleep and sleep AOC and probably had FC jammies. Shes gone now, lol

LOL and a nice pcp questionaire
questions regarding terrain No-No's.
If someone in on a mountain and jumps to a building roof top, runs across the roofs which are built side by side and kill someone on the ground, is this a no-no?
If I am on a wall and shoot someone on the ground, is this a no-no?
If I run up a mountain side and use my Archer's or TOS's ranged skills to kill someone is this a no-no?
If I run down a mountain side and use my Archer's or ToS's ranged skills to kill someone is this a no-no?
If I am in a dungeon and Jump up on a rock or table or ledge, is this a no-no?
If I am in a raid and run around a pillar so I dont get hit by the mob is this a no-no?
If I kill someone on a REZ pad or on thier way to a REZ pad trying to get away from me, is this a no-no?
Can I use the portal door ways, like the Poitain travel guy in Field of the Dead to attack people and then Zone to avoid dying to them when they group up against me or I am close to death?
why did you include a jump button in the game, and why did you make these things able to be jumped up on to or make it able to walk up a staircase to access?
What are you going to do to fix these glitches. IE. Remove stairs, make invisible walls, remove tables, wagons, rocks, ect. ect...
Where can we be to kill things, PvP or PvE, only on flat open area's in the game.
Can you guys draw circles like (green, yellow, red) Bullseyes on the ground so we know where to PvP or PvE? Or maybe green arrows and big "X"'s on the ground so we can tell where you intended us to fight? I think the Bullseyes would be better, kinda like the warning track on a baseball field which lets the outfielders know they are about to come to a wall. When you get to the RED circle you are close to breaking an intended no fighting zone. Yellow circle, you okay but leaving the approved PvP, PvE zone, and finally Green all is safe and you are now fighting a fair balanced PvE or PvP fight and Funcom is happy.
Please add your questions to the list, please keep them on topic and contructive.
Fungerer som det skal
I would say that pretty accurately describes my journey with AoC. Mine was dragged out a little due to being an officer in a large guild and keeping tight lipped for the sake of morale, but eventually I couldn't take it anymore.
This pretty much sums up my journey through AoC. I had really high hopes when they went to 2 patches a week that things would get fixed. But after seeing the patches I hated to see patch day come. And things just kept getting worse and the population on the servers I played on kept dropping.
Then after 2 months of seeing the constant lies of Erling and Gaute in interviews and press releases and their total lack of balls to admit they got things wrong I couldnt take it anymore.
I have never seen such a dishonest gaming company before. And I hope to never see another like this one again.
If i didnt know better i would have thought i wrote this OP.
It describes me perfectly.
Anyone who questions it should look up Irriden on the Main forums. Search by name and select oldest to newest.
You can see the slow fall of a fanboy.

Exactly the same for me. I was the person trying to keep morale up in my (very small) guild which I think in the end just made me hate it more. I don't know how I stayed in game for so long, or why, but it just got to a point where I made a complete 360 one day and just said fuck it.
If Funcom does one thing correct that is PR Hype. I really did, for a while, get into the whole hype thing and really believed it would get better before WAR was out. Hell, I had an 80 ToS and a 78 HoX before I finally realized that the game wasn't getting better but actually getting worse.
I think I've used the analogy in another thread, but Age of Conan is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Sure, at first it seems ok (but the faults are there which cause it to wreck) and then in slow motion you can just see everything getting destroyed. The game is progressively getting buggier and laggier through patches (sure , you might not crash now but your game will just hang indefinitely! ) and more and more exploits are getting brought to light.
Gem Duping, epics dropping like greys off a certain mob, gems allowing any class to 1 shot another class... The game is so off the wall now that only a miracle can fix it now.

Dont believe in miracles, time can save it .
Futilez[Do You Have What It Takes ?]
*nods quietly* Yes, I suppose that about sums it up right there--albeit, it happened for me well before the game was released.
Neutral to Dissapointed for myself then wee-bit hater.
While I'm not a very big hater, I will admit I'm maybe a little of it. I honestly hope Funcom will get smacked somehow and then I will hope again, that other MMO developers will take a look at AoC's post-launch for input.
Whatever doomsayers say, the game will probably never die (unless Funcom does something el grande loco).
Whatever fanbois say, don't think it will get substantially more subscribers than what it already has. I'm from a small town and here everyone knows everyone. 10-15 people started playing here. No one plays anymore. Talked to people I've played with in LOTRO, WoW & EvE, all say they ain't playing anymore. We were a guild of 25-30 people. Only 1 still has a paying subscription.
RIP Blackguard. May a resurrection come.
