WAR's end game and why it wont be boring

I play alot of games, I wont elaborate, and one of my fav past times besides my weekly 4 night WOW sunwell raids (which takes about 2-3 hours) is playing WW2Online (battlegroundeurope) a mmofps. I sometimes spend the whole night and well into the morning playing this game. Its a massive capture the flag in WW2 era where you play allied or axis and win when you own 90% of the map (which is no small task and takes 2-6 months). Ok the point is you dont get loot you dont get buffs or any stuff like that just medals if you do really good which have no ingame effects but ppl LOVE IT. Each time a new campaign starts we get hyped and replan how we gonna beat the other side.

Now lets take WAR, similar except you get loot, you get titles, achievements, end game public quests in the enemy city and who knows what else bunch of stuff when you "win". And ppl will say this is it? But thats not it, restarting is gonna rock, like the next chapter of a book. You want to do something different, you want to own more forts (your alliance) you want to do something that puts you and your guild on that server's hall of fame thingy. It is competitive, you compete against other players,  and every battle wont be the same. WW2Online is on its 45th campaign, 7 years, and i've been active for a good 10 campaigns of it and am having a blast still.

Let's take WoW's endgame: raids. It is all the same. Same every week, that same trash that same bosses, it gets boring fast once you are done. Ok then there is the WoW pvp, arena. You find more and more ppl doing arenas now, why? cause its the only thing to do besides endgame raids? Yes. Because you get to compete against other players? Yes. Compete, competition. Mhmmm.

Ok now something else that has been on my mind, the newbies, the casuals. Imagine you are new to WoW, ok you get the basics you level up see the game world, nice world, go around, kill that 1st enemy player, woot!, do instances. In about say 2-4 months you hit 70 then start doing karas and try at bg's arenas. What are you doing? Trying to get loot for yourself so you can get into a better guild and see the nasty endgame raid content everyone is talking about. Oooh sunwell, hmm oh well just wanna see Illiadian b4 expansion hits. But WHAT HAPPENS? You dont get a chance, why? your loot sucks your skills suck, you cant make raid times, or something. Uhoh, then what? oh well do some battlegrounds, hang around with friends in kara etc. Ok...

Lets take WAR, you enter the world, and after the few lowbie levels you get to do your 1st RvR scenario woot. You fight, experience that nice first COMPETITION, get to laugh at the enemy who tried to run away or curse some of them who zergs you. YOU get nice items and and on top of that your REALM gains from it. Right on, self gain +guild gain + realm gain, nice something more to play for.

Endgame WAR for casuals, you log on find a nice raid going on on an enemy keep or something join right in (every bit helps) you have a crazy time for 2-3 hours and at end after some monitor headbanging rush you logout feeling content that you HELPED your side however little and gained something from it too.

Holy crap look at that, if you read this then you are either SOO bored or you are EAGERLY waiting for WAR.

kk I wasnt trying to ditch WOW, I love WoW been playing for 3 years, just nothing to do now. I've been waiting something like this for a while and cant wait for the release. Hope it doesnt flop.

RvR will be the hook that catches people playing this game for the next few years imo. This is supposed to be a "PvP" game and it's easily to get addicted to the competition of working together in a Guild over VENT to defeat your opposition doing the same. It's about the recognition ingame. I should know, I'm a PvP junkie that started out PvE.

    Exactly my feeling

I have no time for long grinds anymore. Waiting for raids and such.

I feel that WAR might be a perfect casual MMO. Where casuals can get involved have fun and still and contribute - at least a bit.

Why do they need to work over vent?

You don't "need" vent/ts to work well as a unit in pvp setups, I remember the pvp team I was in a few years back we used RaidAssist mod and some neat assist train macro's. As well as locational macro's for Arathi Basin.

When my guild does wsg/eots these days though we tend to use vent, pushing a single button to yell "HEEEEEELP" tends to work as well :P

Yes, casual would be great; just hope that it really is casual friendly.  I don't want the job I have, much less a second one.

No you don't "Need" it, but it gives a huge advantage to strategize and coordinate better.
