heh. I sit back and look at the massive hemmorraging the two companies (Microsoft and SONY) and having financially with these consoles.  It doesn't bother me. The games that I love ...well...if they go to console they go to console.

Im not spending hundreds of dollars on a piece of equipment that will be out of date with current specs in two years (in which case, the 360 and PS3 is danegrously close to being "outdated" now).

Not saying i think consoles suck. I just don't find any entertainment value in em. As I said in other threads...I owned a PS3 and returned it in about 4 days. Didn't do anything for me

The past few years, Madden on PC has been an insulting afterthought anyway. The PC version didn't get any of the features that the PS3 and 360 versions got, we got stuck with the crap that got put on the PS2, Xbox, and gamecube versions. Good Riddance.

I'm still getting mileage out of my PS2.  I pick it up now and again and just play me some Prince of Persia.  As it stands now I'll just go along with Enigma.  I'd rather just buy a bunch of interchangeable parts that I can upgrade as I see fit, put them together and play my games.  As it stands, most of the games I've wanted to play on the consoles have come to the pc.  Stuff like Gears of War I really don't care for because I dislike playing FPS style games with a controller.  I've tried it before and just don't like it.  People say "well you get used to it" and I reply with "I don't want to have to".  My mouse and keyboard give me the precision I want.  The whole auto aim and weapons that fire clouds of ammo make it feel as if I couldn't miss no matter where I aimed the damn weapon.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

EA is Money, then multiplatform. Madden will come to PC, like all major titles, just a few months later.

I have it on my xbox, been playing it, it is alright, but not a major football fan. The graphics and realism are impressive though. The active touchdown celebrations are overrated however.

I don't really think  sport games  (other than e-sports ) fit on the PC.    A sport game is itself very simple, lack modability, etc... is something work better on a console. And I don't like sport games.

Who gives a rat's ass about the same stupid foot ball game that's made every year?

Sigh......you forgot that the release of Darkfall will start the salvation of computer games over the consoles.......

.....followed by the release of Duke Nukem Forever.

Exactly, nothing changes in this game. Graphics to gameplay. It actually got worse as it went on. If you own Madden 2003 you own all the releases after that. PC madden wasa big flopa nd waste of money to make, nobody bought it. I think they sold 40k PC versions of the game in 2007.

The Duke will come before Darkfall.  I got a feeling that Duke Nukem Forever will once again spark some garbage in the news with claims of overabundant misogyny.  And the grandmothers everywhere will buy under aged little Timmy his own copy even though she shouldn't and the cycle will continue.

  • This is not a big deal. The PC has never been where the action is for sports games, the consoles have always dominated that niche. I see no reason why they should not continue to.

When I worked a summer job at a Gamestop many years ago, it was my greatest irritation to have to deal with people attempting to trade in used sports games like Madden. They were always shocked and angry when they got practically nothing for them. It's hard to get much value out of a game that will be reliably reprocessed each and every year, least of all in the used games market.

yeah lol i got less than five dollars for my copy of madden 08 last week...I knew that this would be the case though, I was just happy to get as much as I did for Oblivion.

At least with football, that's just because they dumb down the games to be compatible with a console controller. And of course they also neuter them to be compatible with the intellectual capacity of your average console player.

There used to be a very fun franchise called 'Front Page Sports Football' for the PC that had - for one example - a complete play editor. You could design all your own plays from the ground up if you wanted to. But Madden drove them out of business years ago. So I broke down and bought a copy of Madden after that happened, and it was so boring and stupid it was in the trash an hour or so later. I haven't bought a sports game since.
