god i wish i would of never tried vanguard

because now. I goto play everquest2 and I don't enjoy it anymore. I don't like crafting, I don't even like the quests as much. Even the quests in Vanguard feel more robust and alive. And I've been playing eq2 for 2-3 years now.

Damn you Vanguard!

If anyone hasn't played it yet. easily the best pve mmo out. very addictive. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Performance is NOT that bad anymore.

I am on a mid range comp and i run around 20-30 fps on a medium settings.

keep in mind i've got a low mid end comp still running on a single core processor.

I must admit, the EverCrack feeling is back for me and VG.

No other game cuts it I am afraid.

Good luck with your addiction ;)

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

What comes to the free trial, I've been waiting it for ages.

In the end last month they started to test beta for a trial island, tightened area ment to get upcoming trial people hooked. Also they sent invitation to the old games who have their accounts closed. So the open trial shouldn't be that far away.

Tho as long as I dont get a buddy key, or free trial gets out, I'm not gonna go to this boat. If its the wine the forums say it is, it doesn't get bad if it waits for month or two. So anyone got buddykey? =)

There is a reason why it cost 20$ :)

It was stated today that the free trial should be out in two weeks.

I agree, too:  VG in its present state really makes EQ2 look bad.  It's more engrossing overall, and the world is more open than even EQ2's huge zones.  No zoning!

What's more, the world is more beautiful by far.  Yeah, EQ2 looks really nice.  But when you play some footage of EQ2 and then transition to Vanguard there's just no comparison.  Screen shots do NOT do this game justice.  The dynamic weather, volumetric atmospherics, more natural environments (and environmental transitions), etc. all combine to create a world that is really stunning.  There have been a lot of times I've stopped to admire the view.  And if you REALLY want to see something, try this command:  /setfog 999999.  That disables the fog that is heavy in some areas and lets you see epic draw distances that blow any other game out of the water.

FYI the collector's edition has 10 free buddy keys...just feel free to pass em out for those who are less fortunate :p

I am still enjoying Vanguard, great game, lots of fun...hope to see many more people on the Xeth server...And if you dont believe me...FREE weapons! for all your toons any level (although UPGRADED weapons you'll have to get materials for me becuase they are too expensive :p) just to keep you motivated I have a toon who can craft leather medium armor up to level 20...Name is Ruthlezz or Runefuz I play those toons the most...see ya in game...

I play EQ2 as well and am having a hard time deciding if I want to go over to Vanguard. I think when the new character models are released I'll at least give it a months go :)

I only picked up VG recently. I'm really loving it so far! I also play EQ2. Both games have major plusses, and actually neither really have huge negatives. Both titles are solid PvE MMOs. The only game that might get me to budge away from one or the other is WAR, but I am going to give that a month after release to hear what people say.

Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC.

I beta tested Vanguard and it was fun for what it was. Im more into RvR style pvp games like Dark age of Camelot or Warhammer.  But if your into more of a pve style mmo Vanguard has alot to offer I guess.
