I can't believe the the AoC community!

I'm sorry this is a rant so feel free to skip my post entirely but I need to get this off my chest.
I honestly cannot believe the absolute filth that come out of the mouths of AoC players in their forums, it truly sickens me how warped the minds of so many people are. I honestly believed that the WoW community was the worse, with Alliance's "lose to win" mentality and people always crying that class x has this ability so their class should get it to. Basically it's just a lot of stupidity, but at least they never try to HURT anybody. The AoC community has just as many immature players WoW has AND their more dangerous.
I've seen posts about player complaining that AoC's PvP is completely unbalanced and that it needs to be fixed, and the other players ridiculed him! So many responded that he was the fool and that AoC is all about brutal ganking and killing each other and fair PvP has no place in this game, GTFO. What?!? Like telling him to go play Counter Strike or a different MMO is suppossed to be an insult? And these are the same players that wonder why or don't even care that other players were cancelling their accounts left and right. People are blaming Funcom for all the bugs and stuff about why people are quitting but I have a feeling that it's actually those multitude of Mini-game premades, spawn campers, high level griefers, "WoW kiddies", and overall players that harp and scream if Funcom tries to do anything to make the game more fair for people getting killed all the time.
And don't give me that "this is what FFA is about" nonsense, because Eve Online is all about FFA but their community isn't a cesspool like AoC is. Their PvP is FFA but it's integrated into the gameplay in a way that make sense. If you're a ship cargo traveling into a low sector zone, and you get jumped by a group of pirates, pod killed and your stuff stolen, that's not griefing, it's just business! Everyone accepts those are the risks you take. AoC's nothing like that, there's zero reason for you to kill that player that's stuck in cut scene with an NPC, or kill the same lower level player over and over again, except that those players think it's fun to act like asses and ruin other people's gameplay. And AoC has an entire community of low lives that think that broken PvP is the best thing ever, and it just makes me physically ill.
And I'm not trying to defend Funcom, they did mess up with not delivering most of the endgame content, but, but the truth is that community is the biggest factor in whether players stick around or not, if you think about it. I think Age of Conan would be more successful if there community was more supportive of the economy and each other instead of having guilds dedicated to terrorizing other players.

I still can't belive Funcom had such a great marketing scheme that they could unload 700k copies of this garbage on people before we wised up but denial is bliss I guess.
I guess it comes with the territory, the type of game AOC is. Do you think you would get carebear hellokitty online adventure players playing AOC?
Not to mention what this company has done to it's players, wouldn't you be pissed. The forums show this.

Funcom has ruined the MMO community because alot of us are gun shy now and won't preorder a game before we see it in action.
I like the way War is looking and how stable testers say it is but I'm not going to buy till at least a few weeks after launch so I can see what people actually think of the game.
Not planning on getting burnt again like Funcom did to me and everyone else.

regardless of how much I or you do not like WoW, you really should understand the fact that you should be thanking WoW for making these other games possible....

I should be thanking wow that there are numerous clones of it made every year ? I should thank WOW , A certain company turned a completely original and innovative game into a horrible clone? I should thank WOW PVE is the prevalent playstyle Developers focus on now ? I should thank WOW games are turning into Gimmicks?

not the game and whats its done to MMOs but i see your point so WOW did good/bad things

Their is a reason why WoW and other games have a system called dueling.
If you put random people standing next to each other. Many will attack for no reason, In dueling one must request, then the other has to accept. This system has been proven over and over as the only way. As people play the game knowing this fact, then less will request. However it is a good system for:
1) Kids, as ALL games have the same % of kids.
2) Two people mouthing off to each other can test their skills.
I just guess Funcom did not get the e-mail, that you just can't have random fighting as it will never work !!!
Same with Vanguard did not get the e- mail eather and that's why PvP servers are dead !
REAL PVP WOULD HAVE TWO SIDES, So yes its Funcoms fault, not the players BOTTOM LINE.
WoW is like a Sunday morning church congregation compared to the community of AoC.

if you cant handle the pvp. go to a pve server. it still has pvp mini games, and seiges. It will eventually have duels also.

Beats having just one or two games to choose from because the companies don't see a profit in it.
I got nothing against WoW, and I like Blizzard for all their games. They have a good rep by me.
Absolutely agree, mainstream Internet has indeed expand this community al together but it hasn't really improved but it will continue to let games in this genre be dumped down due to the way how people complain about games in this genre
To OP: I don't play PVP, the things you speak of in your topic are also some of the reasons of not playing, only difference is that I saw this change when INTERNET became mainstream.

The Funcom community has been teased, lied to, banned, suspended, goaded, and totally ABUSED by Funcom.
Why wouldnt they turn into the exact thing thats hitting them with a cyber whip? Seriously, the twisted fanbase gets whacked daily by the Funcom machine on the forums. Of course the forums are a cesspool of mindless nonsense that proves that some forum goers on there are truly NUTS.
But you know what? It provides some of the greatest and funniest threads ive read on the internet. seriously, someone should compile a storage of these threads before they get deleted just for the sheer entertainment they provide. some of the lines that these people come up with are just PRICELESS.
