Why pro MMOers need to be invited to Elder Testing immediately

Firstly, we know the most about what makes a succsessful MMO. If Mythic wants guarantueed 1+ million subscribers to WAR, we should be advising them on how to make a balanced game. No offense to elder testers but they seem to all be mouse clickers (rofl) which shows a low level of skill & knowledge.

Secondly, if we don't get invited how will we know where to farm exp & gold quickest? It's in Mythic's interest to have us hardcore players reach 40 ASAP. Let us find out where to farm effectively in beta so we don't clog up the low tiers, killing all the monsters & players at release. This will let the casuals have a more enjoyable experience.

I'm sure many of the veteran players with experience in WoW & other MMOs will agree with me, we need to be invited right ------ now ------. Invite us before it's too late.

"Veteran" and "WoW" don't go together in the same sentence

The last two lines of his post made me laugh uncontrollably.

    Damn you beat me death.

Sadly, he is probably right.  Some of the more hardcore folks should be invited, so they can do their thing and mythic can shut that down, so that it is fair to all, and so folks don't get bored in a week.  If you want to balance it, I'd think it probably be best to at least let some of them in, who are hardcore like that.  Look at AoC.  People got to 80 in week or 2 and was like...hmmm, nothing left to do.  I hope WAR doesn't follow that same trend.

Ain't no veterans unless you know Yserbius http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shadow_of_Yserbius

Sigh. The good ole 2D days.

(Maybe a few MUDders and MOOers might slip through there too )

The only veterens which i could see them inviting is DAoC people, because the game runs off the same core as DAoC did (RvR)

Everyone else would just be pointless, and rediculous.

I don't want people memorizing the game before OB even starts.

A game like wow wouldnt be successful without the name of blizzard (+their marketing) behind it, so wow "veterans" as advisors would be a serious fault...

Really i dunno why this post was made because the OP did not even mention that he PO'd a CE. I could understand frustration for not getting in and having preordered the CE.

And if he did then he misunderstood. MJ Stated that elders were testing high end stuff.

new CE invites had to start with testing low level/mid level stuff BEFORE we test high end stuff.

Also you dont need 1 mill testers to make a awesome game. Just enough that actually give FEEDBACK. This late in the game you dont let 1 mill people in and have people leak info to companies that steal content like blizzard.

I guess a lot of guys measure there manhood on how great of gear their WoW character has. Here is a little secret for you HARDCORE guys, nobody in the real world gives a squat.

I'm personally not a hardcore type of player.  Granted I have alot of time to play, but I'm not as nutty as some of them are.  What my point was that they make sure the content lasts more then 2-3 weeks for those that are that way.  I personally haven't followed this game much, I want to see it released and see how it goes before I even look into it.  If they are testing it as great as they are, then hey, great, i'm glad someone is actually doing something right.  If not, they should look into it.

Well I hate to burst the hardcore WoW bubble here, but War is not all about PVE content, while it has and could be played this way (for those not inclined to rvr) it is really an RvR game, which has no bearings if you played WoW or not. Now if your talking vet daoc players you might have something. However the devs have stated again and again this isn't a grind game , you will get to 40 darn quick even in casual play, the game really starts at the end game. About time if you ask me to be honest, I am sick of the grind being the game in these MMO's, it will be a nice change of pace to get threw the levels and work on other things such as rank and kicking some !

I preordered the CE on day one, registered when I first could. I have a decent rig and I didn't get selected for the CE CB. I entered my Open Beta code late but you do not see me posting that I am hardcore blah blah and beta needs me. Beta def doesnt need me and if I have to wait it will not affect the game in any way. I get so sick of this hardcore bs. Its a game and time invested does not = hardcore

On the other hand I am pretty darn excited and amped to play this game. I would also like to see your business plan on how you can guarantee 1 million plus subscribers. Beta is not an entitilement. Also to be a professional gamer/"MMOer" would require a paycheck and having it as your profession. Maybe a degree.

  • PROdotesPROdotes Member Posts: 197

Well the OP is talking about "hardcore grinders" and not gamers... people that spend hours and hours killing the same mob again and again so they can farm item X...

I say, let them... they can farm all they want while i have fun exploring and getting my ToK as full as i can... while doing some PQs and RvR on the side

This is such a dumb comment let us pro gamers in before its 2 late? if ur pro, elite, or a hardcore gamer you will find it fast anywayz. the lvling in the game is quiet fast pace and everything in the game is built for casuals and hardcore gamers alike. Really what u should say is ur pissed cause u didnt get to figure thigns out early to help beinfit u at start. Beta is there to work bugs outs fix crap, balance characters not find fast lvligns farming spots how to get the best gear and awesoem group makeups find that crap out when it goes live.

I think someone is pissed they dont get to test the game to see if they should buy it

Actually these Pro MMo-ers would ruin the game in last month of development..
  • banthisbanthis Member Posts: 1,891

The gamers that tend to think they're entitled or know better than the devs or even know better than beta testers who have been Testing the game since the start are usually the same bitch whine and moaners that ruin games.   The same people that bitched & moaned until Trials of Atlantis was invented, the same people who bitched and moaned over 'welfare' epics,  the same people who bitch and moan because EQ2 doesn't support pvp properly.   These type of people just need to be ignored.

Real gamers who know the drill who test the game to test and not Farm & Grind are the type of people that deserve to be on the eldar servers and since I know a few of them I"m glad they are on the eldar server.  They think objectively about the game as a whole and the community and not about themselves.  This isn't to say they aren't learning all the little nooks and crannies in the possible but their priorities are straight unlike the OP that thinks because he's a Grinder and a Farmer (the people most of us tend to hate) he deserves something special.

If you call yourself hardcore and brag about it "I'm so leet cause I grind X mob bizllion times" your nothing...your not  hardcore, your not a real gamer, and your most definitly not entitled to anything special over the rest of us.   If you want to be catered too like WoW caters to you then go back to WoW.
