What happened to this game?

I first heard about Tabula Rasa on AIM's homepage, when the game was coming out, in an article labeled "Move over WoW" or something like that. I checked out the game, told my cousin and friend about it, and we played it together. I loved the game but my computer barely ran it, so I just played for the first month (I think it might have been two months because of the free month, or was it this game? Can't remember). I come to these forums every now and then just to see what's up, but I see some complaining posts similar to Age of Conan's forums, just not as severe. So what I really want to know, was what happened to this game? It seemed like a fun game but I never got to experience the whole thing.

I'm thinking about going back when I build my new computer, in case WAR doesn't live up to the hype. Is it worth it? Thanks everyone!

different things appeal to different people. Personally, I love this game. Having a higher end machine will really show you all the incredible settings the game has to offer. There's a lot of really great world & character detail in the game, that playing on anything below high does a disservice to the player.

It's changed somewhat since you've left. If you read the patch notes at www.rgtr.com over the last 8 months, there's been several gameplay changes.

The game is fast paced, and action packed. It's got lots of incredible variations on classes and how someone wants to direct their playstyle.

The complaining stems from a lack of content some people expect. Also, what they consider content. It makes some more upset then others.

The game certainly is not as in-depth as some MMOs, and someone should not sign up expecting that, but it's a ton of fun. There is plenty of things to keep the causal gamer busy. It's really a great game to jump in, shoot shit, and log. No need to dedicate hours of you time to one aspect of the game or another.

One of the biggest advantages this game has is Developer Interaction.  The developers communicate with the players more than any game I have ever known.  Go to the PlanetTR website and you'll come across threads where the developers aren't just listening behind the scenes, but actually communicating with the community on an every day basis, commenting on what is currently going on in development as well as all out discussions regarding fixes and features.

There has been many times in this game that changes were made directly due to player communication with the developers.

Personally, when a dev team takes that much interest in the community, you can expect a great future for fans of the game.
