should I use bittorrent or Utorrent?

I just started downloading the client with bittorrent and I am getting about 90kb/s but I see a lot of people are using Utorrent. Would that get me a better download speeds?

Also, If I play Vanguard while the torrent is downloading will that slow down speeds? Vanguard is a bit rough on my computer but I dont know if torrent speeds have any correlation.

The difference is really minimal, the actual speeds are determined by your connection and how generous seeders are feeling. I use utorrent and people usually prefer it because its a "lite" version which really means less hassle setting things up. If you search threw all the posts here you will find alternative solutions like downloading the patcher only and downloading directly from the company. Just gotta do some research on it.

With utorrent i hit between 350-400kb. But im not sure if it have to do with utorrent

Patcher method was not something Mythic wanted done and has since been stopped.

If both programs are well configured it shouldn't make much of a difference speedwise as they're both well behaved clients (unlike bitcomet).

If you plan to download torrents more often I would reccomend uTorrent but make sure you get an old version from before they went commercial.

they are both the same. utorrent is just a little lighter on the computer....it uses up less memory

I just downloaded from the patcher yesterday, and it worked for me.  Took me 4 hours to load the 9Gig.

What I did was started downloading from Utorrent until I got Warpatch.exe file, then I log off the Utorrent, and Double click the patch file, and downloaded the rest that way.  Played lastnight until they brought the servers for emergency maintaince. 

So if you get low speed like under 100kbs... try the patcher method?  People told me that it wouldnt work, but it did for me around 2PM yesterday.
