Bah, if the DNA tests come up with something interesting I'll make a public apology and say you bigfoot enthusiasts were right all along. More likely it's a bear or something. Just like that chupacabra footage, the damn sightings are always dogs or coyotes.
Still, at least they provided a corpse for testing. I've had my fill of grainy videos and piss-poor photographs, not to mention 'first-hand' accounts of people who claim to have seen something. I don't buy in to the 'if thousands of people believe it it must be true' line.
then you also must believe our Legal System to be a disgrace.
I find it odd that people like you find fault in thousands of eyewitness testimony yet live in a country that 100% relies on the very same thing for its legal system.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and I can tell you that I personally know at least two dozen hunters that have either seen one or heard one.
The real questions that comes to my mind, if this is true and Bigfoot exists...is he sentient ? Is he self-aware. Do they have a culture ? Do they bury their dead ? Are they an off-shoot of the same evolutionary chain that produced us ?
Can you imagine if Bigfoot thinks and feels as we do ? Its not out of the realm of possibilities. The creature has been smart enough to avoid detection for thousands of years.
Potentially, another sentient Human species on the same planet...wow
I certainly don't trust the legal system as much as others might, but as I've yet to find a better alternative...Besides which, eyewitness testimony is rarely weighed as heavily as other evidence.
And yes, I absolutely find fault in the thousands of eyewitness testimonies. Until you offer a shred of actual proof, I will continue to think Bigfoot is a myth. You know why all those people saw the thing? Wishful thinking. All Bigfoot believers ever have to offer are eyewitness testimony which cannot be verified, grainy photographs which could either be doctored or tampered with, and piss-poor video. Occassionally someone will produce a footprint that they claim to have made a mold of, and these are either highly questionable or outright fraud.
This is going to shape up to be yet another hoax. Oh, lest I forget, the guys who shot the 'bigfoot' are now selling merchandise and tours to the location they shot it through their website. But I'm sure their intentions are noble.
I don't dismiss the possibility of finding new species. We find new species all the time. I dismiss the notion that Bigfoot is real. Finding new species of insect, fish, or even small birds and mammals is one thing. The possibility of finding a whole new primate that has been living in North America miraculously dodging concrete human contact is remote, at best.
DNA results are in. "The two men also brought what they said were the results of DNA tests on the corpse's body tissue which were undertaken by Curt Nelson, a biologist at the University of Minnesota. According to Mr Nelson, one test showed human DNA, another was inconclusive, while a third came back as the DNA of a possum, which he said could have been from something the Bigfoot had eaten."
Well the human dna is an indicator the picture is not a costume or hoax.
The inconclusive is probably the undiscovered species.
And bigfoot has been reported since ancient times, so if you think this is one of the most impossibly well constructed hoaxes in the history of man, you are a

Yeah..dermal ridges, physical deformaties and all. You generalize here. Police pathologists have been left scratching their heads over some of these molds.
While i can't say it isn't a hoax, my mind changed somewhat with the "mouth" photos. They also are clearly havng fun with their detractors.
If this is fake, they spent alot of money on this. I've seen plenty of cadavers, and that kind of realism doesn't come cheap.

Inconclusive doesn't mean it's another species, inconclusive happens a lot on DNA testing on humans it's just too far from reliable to be conclusive.
If they're real bones they should stop 'abusing them' because that's what these idiots are doing and let a forensic specialist deal with it or let them rest in piece.

If they're real human bones they should go to jail.
It should also be noted that the DNA tests were conducted privately, and as of the last story I read no independent verification has been possible, because they won't grant access to the body to anyone. They've also offered three different stories about how they found the thing. One was that they just found the carcass in the woods. One was someone shot it and they followed it until it died. And of course they've also said they found a family of the things. And of course the body is nowhere to be found, it's at an 'undisclosed location.'

Is that what "they said" or what the media reported that they said?
I've gotten to where I don't trust the media hardly at all anymore.
Last week's excitement over a supposed Bigfoot body, which culminated Friday in a circus-like press conference in Palo Alto, Calif., collapsed like a wet soufflé Sunday as an independent investigator determined it was all fake.
Kulls called Biscardi in California, who told him to heat the body to speed up thawing.
"Within one hour we were able to see the partially exposed head," Kulls continues. "I was able to feel that it seemed mostly firm, but unusually hollow in one small section. This was yet another ominous sign."
Then came the clincher.
"Within the next hour of thaw, a break appeared up near the feet area. ... I observed the foot which looked unnatural, reached in and confirmed it was a rubber foot."
Its a conspiracy's i tells ya Bigfoot is on the same island with Saddam and Osama drinking Coronas on the beach... Nah it appears to be a fake, darn it...
Damn, better act now and shell out those $500 dollars for a tour before it's too late. I want to see where they shot a Halloween costume in the wild!
And it looks like one of them got fired over this. Well done.
To the Bigfoot believers who have been posting in this thread, look, I'm not saying it doesn't exist. I don't think it exists, I think it's highly unlikely it exists, but it could. The thing is, there are so many hoaxes like this one, and so many Bigfoot believers flock to defend what turns out to be a scam. You can be a believer, and still be a skeptic. If you truly believe in Bigfoot, then you have an obligation to leap on these scams and destroy them as fast as possible. Otherwise, any meaningful research into the subject will be mired in hoaxes and scam artists.

Inconclusive = contaminated samples...It doesn't mean that it's bigfoot.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
Its possible either way..
But can you explain the human DNA? I would say this is proof of a primate but if someone wants to theorize otherwise go ahead
Who gives a shit how many thousands of years people have talked about gigantic gorilla men? People are stupid. All over the world.
