WAR is like playing a vastly better version of DAOC imo. Do the similarities bother you? Or are you happy as hell to have an updated alternate version of the DAOC system. I will be the first to say that I am relieved that WAR is so close to DAOC in the RvR department.

I would say it takes the best part of modern day MMO's and the best parts of DAOC and squishes them up into a ball of delicious cake.
I for one am going to be snacking at the cake producing teat of mythic for some time.
Wouldn't you be violating the NDA by saying that you know its similar to DAOC? Because only those foiks in the beta really know and they're not allowed to say.
For the rest of us, would just be a guess I'm thinking so sure, I'll take a guess

No because anyone thats gone to Conventions have gotten to play the game :P We just can't talk about whats in beta, the specifics etc etc basically anything that isn't public knowledge.
Well not exactly. If you watch all the videos on the war website you can see them talking about all the features I am making reference to.

Ron Paul is the best we have but the media never covers him, so we're stuck with the two crappy canditates. Oh well.
Saying WAR is or isn't like DAoC isn't breaking NDA, they've given enough evidence publicly for one to decide. The "feel" of it of course would be up to the person, but unless they go into specifics it's not breaking NDA really.

I can say this. As someone who enjoyed the ORIGINAL ,as in 1.3 version of AV, and DAOC, this game does not disapoint.
If you like ez mode zerging and reading canned strategies please play wow with your 9 friends. Have fun with Arthas and 9 million Death kinghts.
Exactly. Also, I am not trying to sway everyone to believe that WAR is like DAOC. I could list tons of things that make them the same, and could also argue why they are not the same.
There are no wrong answers, this is about your perception. I am just curious to see what people are thinking at this point...(other than Ron Paul for Prezz!!!!)
EDIT: Also, we all know its impossible for mmo players to agree on anything as a majority =p

As a person who loved playing DAoC, I am only guessing and hoping that WAR will be like DAoC but an upgraded version.
Ron Paul is in the lead.

I just don't know if the Ron Paul launch would go very well, yeah the beta is good and all, but AoC and Vanguard come to mind.

also because I never played DAOC before so yeah. 
The open world pvp stuff is a lot more fun than the scenarios. The scenarios to me are like the battleground zones in DAOC..kinda just something extra to do. My plan is to stay queued for scenarios while I am doing quests to level, and then hit the open world stuff. On another note I actually used the battlegrounds to level in DAOC a lot on the classic server =p

The problem with the old DAOC fans is it's all nostalgic memories and they wont get that back with WAR or be happy with it because they remember the game was better than it was because its the old back in the day thing. So reall I think DAOC fans will stay with DAOC and old fans will find something to hate in WAR. Really I think WAR is trying to aim at a totally new audience and I think they proved that with the beta because they coulda done some kinda beta deal with the current DAOC players as they know RVR and could help with balancing, but they didn't.
So really I think WAR speaks to players who have left WOW and want something new and the hardcore mmorpg players who are bored of everything else out there. The problem is most of the WOW people will go back when WotLK comes out and alot of the hardcore mmorpg players are fedup of the current mmorpgs and WAR changes nothing.
So really in the end all WAR will end up getting is the odd player in each group but never have mass market appeal.
I agree with Papa, personally I don't think I will go back to wow after Wotlk comes out. I stayed with WoW for the last expansion and it really did not do much for me. I am just waiting for a game that is able to revive the old EQ feeling. Also a few of my friends have left wow for greener pastures many times before but I cant see blizzard doing anything that substantial that would make the game seem "fresh"
I am a DAOC fan and I can tell you, I am not some old man who remebers the good old days of steam powered cars. DAOC was good, but WAR can only be a much smoother polished version of DAOC, with an actually community and no Trials of Atlantis to ruin it.
