Europeans playing on US servers, possible?

I was wondering if Mythic said anything about ip filtering or stuff like that to prevent europeans playing on US servers or vice et versa?
I have experienced GOA in the past with DAOC and if possible I would prefer to go and play on the US servers instead of having to have to deal with GOA again...
And btw, if it is possible, anyone knows which pre-selling place ships abroad?

Our guild / grp of friends are all UK based. We have no intention of playing GOA's Euro setup due to historical problems with DAoC, late patching, ages to get updates etc etc.
Also we have always preferred US servers in any MMO.
We've all ordered from Amazon.com (not cheap) and we all had active DAoC accounts on US servers which are now master accounts, so all should be fine.
80% of Europeans will want to play local servers, but there;s a good sized contingent that will want a choice.
I dont expect any IP filtering.
I'm still waiting for my pre order codes to arrive tho, but I only placed my order yesterday.
I heard Amazon.com refuse to ship games like WAR to EU. Have I got that wrong?

There are restrictions on certain items , but I've ordered my CE from there - No issues as far as I am aware as they have given me my keys.
Well, I live in Belgium and tried to order via Amazon but can't :
"We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below"
So if anyone knows a workaround or another shipping services that does send things abroad I am all listening
There were no restrictions on my order, when put in the UK it just slapped $35 delivery charge on and a $17 export/import duty for here.
Anyone know how long the codes take to get emailed pls?
If its on Amazon they don't Email the codes. They go into your media library under downloads.

Hmm, what if I ship my preorder to the sea, will I be able to use the preorder code to play the game ?
yeah i live in the Uk and preodered form gamestop they are also charging extra for shipping but i got collecters as well. No problems here. Got my codes like 2 hours after ordering as well.
Can't stand EU servers
Well, I did preorder the game via gamestop but I am now wondering if there won't be a problem for the billing as I know that they sometimes put a check on the country of the visa card...

Well that could be solved with buying online gamecards from US retailers. The question however is if they will accept a European contact info (adress/country etc) when creating the actual WAR account. For example WOW didn't. Sure you can always use a "stolen" US adress, however that could result in some issues if you need costumer support.
But I guess if Mythic allowed it with DOAC, no reason they would change this now. But perhaps anyone has some more concrete info?
Looks like the European end is a shambles. I'll give Goa a couple more days to sort themselves out but playing US (as I do with most games) is starting to look favourite. Hopefully it should not be too hard to identfy the 'unofficial european server'.
I'm going to be using the same US master account I had for DOAC - pretty sure I was paying by Visa or Paypal so if you have a debit/credit card it shouldbe no problem.
well my master account is UK. and i just put all the US codes in with no problem. Even says gamestop on it.
So if I do get this correctly, the account on the US WAR site which you've bound your beta key to has a European contact info? Will that account carry on to live, read something about a headstart blahblah, feel free to enlighten me

Shameless bump for much needed info, I will not stand another game ruined by retarded Swedes with there even more retarded names spamming the chatt left and right with our national language. Such a lack of respect towards the rest of the server and just not something I want in a online game, to say the least.
Boodis, I remember having done this exact same thing for WoW and it was working fine. I cannot garantee it will with Mythic but at least I will give it a shot because I have the same issue with french than you have with Sweeds. I could go UK but that wouldn t sort my GOA issue
I am 99.99% sure it will be absolutely fine. When companies like amazon.com (who are pretty rigorous in not infringing territory agreements) will sell you one you know its OK. Its easy to buy gamecards online too.
I'd urge everyone to play USA and send a clear message to Goa that there Funcom style BS is not acceptable.
I doubt you can play on a USA server with the EU version. But I hope will be feasible to buy a USA copy to play on the USA server. Anyway I will play on the EU-UK servers, or maybe in the EU-ES servers (I am spanish).
Anyway WAR let you change languaje on-the-fly with a console command "/languaje english". That could prove be handy.
How about no? U want to fuck up the EU community liek Daco was fucked up? And have us servers with eu players playign when all the us players are asleep, and kees getting attacked while the majority of players are asleep. No thx.
True Goa are trully messing the EU playerbase up liek they did with Daoc, but Eu servers need to be played on.

I take your point about messed up EU servers but it is Goa that is doing that pretty much single handedly. All I want is the best possible playing experience as things stand it looks like Goa are not best equiped to deliver that.
How does Gamestop deliver your beta code, and how long does it take after a order has been placed?
So how does it work with the time delay then?
Surely if you are in the UK/EU and you play on a US server you are 5 hours ahead of the East Coast and 8 hours ahead of the West Coast.
I can imagine there will hardly be anyone around at those sort of times (I can only think of WoW at 04.00) and it's dead?
Also you are never going to see your Guild mates or you'll meet them just as you are logging off for bed and they are logging on?
