Computer not starting up -DVD player making odd noise Help!

Howdy everyone

  I was playing some games lastnight when it got late and I got tired.  I shut off my system with the usual start - shutdown method  and went to sleep.  I woke up and went to turn my computer on when I noticed that my DVD player was making this odd repeating sound and the light kept blinking on it as well.  Now when it was working properly it would make that noise once and that was it.  This time its repeating the sound.

I couldnt get any further.  My screen remained black.  The light on the monitor remained dim as if it wasnt getting anything from my system.  The light on the Motherboard was green as usual.  The fan on the GPU was on and running so it was getting power.

I dont know what to do.  I cant get on my computer , its just sitting at a black screen with my DVD player making noises repeating itself.   Sometimes itll make the noise a few times and go away but the screen still remains black and doesnt get any further.

Any help please?  I dont know what to do... Anythings appreciated.

This may seem like a stupid question, but is there anything in your DVD drive?
