I loved the Intro, very well done both technically and story wise.

I like that Blizzard decided to go another road with this, I always enjoyed the combat scenes in the first and second Intro's but it's nice to see that they can do more than just cool shots of classes beating on each other.

By the way, if anyone has NOT seen the WAR trailer, go see it now. It's just as good in my oppinion.

But as for saying it's boring?
What, it's not interesting without random violence?

No, not violence, but do agree to it being dull.  Giving props where props are due, the CGI is beautiful and don't mean to take away from that.  But, all the previous World of Warcraft trailers are looking, well, the same.  I was waiting for Arthas to shout, "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!"  I didn't see any different direction at all.  Even the Burning Crusade trailer, though slightly different, felt pretty much the same as the first.  The first was most interesting because you got to see a full view of character diversity and how they 'fit in' to the world, how they do combat and overall had a personal 'getting into it' feel.  This feels like a short movie, nothing more.  Not excited by the trailer, sorry.  I'm more excited about what I've read about the expansion.

Ok I can't really make this out but I will try to make a good response to it?Ehh

The next expansion is suppose to be more story driven than the others, and this trailer reflected that well.

If new players to wow want an awesome intro to wow, than the first trailer is great for that.

I don't know if you're saying if it's a good thing or a bad thing that the trailer was different from the others.

TBH, I could barely understand what your post said.

But I will say this: I don't see Arthas saying "you are not prepared" or anything really dramatic. He's usually seems to just says what he has to say and then gets the job done :P

    Groovy.

It seems no more reflective of this notion than the Burning Crusade trailer when it first came out...which more or less was the point I was looking to establish.

I agree with this point.  A way to reel in new customers who haven't played or seen the previous expansions.  That makes sense.

I was saying it was a bad thing that it is no different than the previous one.  Different badguy, that was it really.

Not sure what other language I can put it in, but most people ask questions when there's something written they don't understand.

I think Blizzard learned their lesson from last time, throwing in the bellowing catch-phrase that turned out to be more of a central theme for joke on Youtube videos.  It had the same set-up and feel as the previous, so it would not have surprised me if he closed in a 'memorable quote' such as "The Time has Come...to die" *cue evil laughter*

WoW's trailer = Story/lore for those interested.  Just another raid boss for non-lore people.  They didn't sell me on Northrend, Sieges, or Lake Wintergrasp, and most importantly....the DEATH KNIGHT!  Where the hell was the Death Knight?

WAR's trailer = Two factions fighting.  Introducing the races and classes.  Selling me on what to expect....and that WAR IS EVERYWHERE.  Lots of PvP action.  And a bit of Lore in the beginning.

Both great cinematics in their respective right.  Fans of both games ultimately win.

What I am saying is that this isn't suppose to draw people in, it's suppose to help people get ready for the new expansion.

This trailer doesn't come on TV. They have Mr. T and William Shatner to do that for them. This will play right after you load WOTLK up. and unless you're buying Wow and the 2 expacs together, you will already be familiar with the game and the content.

I also think it's suppose to introduce Arthas to players who haven't seen him before. In the new expansion, every quest you go on follows a story line that has to do with Arthas. He isn't just "another raid boss" but the guy you will directly encounter while leveling up in Northrend.

They are showing what is going to be the main aspect of the new expansion. Which is (hopefully.) the deeper, more emersive story line.

People comparing Wotlk's video to WAR's video are comparing the wrong video's.

WOTLK is an expansion, the video is made to promote the expansion, not a new game. If this had been a new game video I would have been disappointed. For an expansion it does exactly what it needs to do, introduce a new threat.

If you want to compare WAr to anything you need to compare it to WoW's first video.

Thank you for the clarification.  I thought it was a trailer to draw people into the game, my mistake there.  I still get the feeling he'll be 'another raid boss' but hope it is as you say here.
