Has there been any new developments from CCP Games and the WOD MMO? It's been a while since I've heard anything. I thought for sure there would be news at E3 or Leipzig, but so far nothing. Is this game still in development? Has anyone heard anything?

Not a peep. It's being developed in CCP Atlanta by a completely different development team than the one in the Iceland home base. Last I heard they were hiring about 100 new people for the Atlanta branch and were looking at at least a 3-4 year development time for it. That 3-4 year timeframe was talked about back in the second quarter of 2007, so 2011 is looking like the date to wait for... I know, it's a long ways off.
As an aside, CCP *has* registered the following urls... http://www.worldofdarknessonline.com/ and http://www.wodonline.com/ so I would imagine that if you see anything pop up there, it'd be the place to keep an eye on.

Icelandic base, sound like some supervillain group.
I cannot wait for this Morpg to come out! I just hope they keep the theme adult and put the same level of care and attention they have done so far with Eve.
I personally hope they have another time based skill progression although I know some people don't like it.

Darkholme covered all the important stuff, there's been a few comments here and there from the CCP folks but nothing of much importance.
You might want to keep an eye on Planet Vampire (Link Here); it's not updated very often but the forums can be a decent source of insight. The White Wolf boards can also be a great place for some info.
Important Information regarding Posting and You
I heard a rumor from my brother (yes this is a I heard from someone who heard...) that vampires and werewolves will not be a playable character at release, but they will be playable with expansions. My first thought was WHAT! WHY?
But then I thought well if in order to become a werewolf or vampire I first have to be human and then infected... I could live with that.
Let the rumor mongering start.

Actually.... in World of Darkness you are BORN a werewolf. You do not get infected. But for the initial part of your life you are just a "weird" human, having this sudden pouts of rage and feeling left apart of human society.... until you change (usually after puberty, but it can varies) and suddenly realize why you were feeling so left out.
Plus Werewolves can act any time of the day and night while Vampires would be limited to night time, I wonder how they will fix that and what about the third main WoD part? Mage?
Then again, a Mortal World of Darkness MMorpg sounds just fine as well.

One of the favorite things for them to say when asked about the WOD MMOG is, "Vampires don't exist", all smarmy and smirky and such. Plus just about everyone who has visits CCP Atlanta has come back with descriptions of the WODO concept art as including plenty of vampires and werewolves. I would say that if it's a World of Darkness game it's a pretty safe bet that vampires and/or werewolves are going to be in it. They're just trying to keep people wondering and speculating about it.

w00t. It's hard enough to wait for the game as it is. I knew that updates would be few and far between, but I thought for sure there would be more frequent updates at game conferences.
Thanks for the updates and links guys. Heres hoping the game doesn't fall apart during development.
You're welcome. It's highly unlikely to fall apart. I have a lot more faith in CCP than I do in most other MMOG developers. Whether you like EVE Online or hate it, you have to admit that CCP is one of the better MMOB developers... or maybe not, but I think the popularity of EVE-O speaks for itself.
