The RL Update did a blind review of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning... Essentially, they review it without playing it.

I can never understand how people can review a game without playing it... You know, other than stupidity or boredom.
I’m not in beta, I haven’t pre-orded the game, I don’t know the class names, I haven’t read the other WAR reviews too closely, I haven’t watched the gameplay videos, and I’ve never played anything Warhammer related in my life

Honestly I hate these type of things. Gamedaily did one for several games that arent released, trying to seem cool, and basically gave only spore a 10, everything else got 5s and 6s. Hell, they even picked on the new sonic game, that isnt even fair, its like beating up an autistic kid in a wheelchair with a baseball bat. :P
I read it. Not in a real detailed sort of way. But I skimmed over it quickly enough to get the jist of what hes going on about.
I can pretty much sum up his review in half a paragraph:
"This is a fantasy MMO. Its not any better or any worse than any other MMO. If you didn't like WoW you won't like this. If you already play WoW, don't leave your friends and your guild to play this. Its just more of the same crap you have already seen."
He pretty much is showing off his ability to copy the attitude of websites like "Something Awful" and "Maddox" but attitude aside, he may have a point. It might just be another grindfest fantasy MMO.
But he doesn't know that until he plays it. So this is really just a prediction, not a review.
His prediction may turn out to be correct however. Right now I'm inclined to agree with him. Atleast until I've seen some actual reviews of the final release of this game.

I really don't understand why someone would do this. If someone is interested in a game and wants to read a review they're surely going to read one from someone who's actually played the game?
So who is the target audience for this kind of review?

The purpose is to generate views for the page. The best way to do that is to do something "outrageous" like a blind review of a much anticipated video game.

I have to admit I laughed. The only common sense this person has is knowing people will read just about anything retarted.
