The only WARHAMMER REVIEW you NEED to read.

you are on MMORPG.com, half the people reviewing "the beta" are veteran everquest players(or have been playing mmos for years). don't fall victim to the negative things said about WAR. it's mainly because these guys are burned out on mmo's period. it  has nothing to do with WAR, no matter how good or bad WAR is ,these guys will not say "it's great" because it didn't give them the same feeling as everquest. of course its not great, you have  been palying everquest clones for 7 years. like i said you people are ridiculous. WAR is very good, there is nothing the game does bad at current state. chances are it's not gonna give you the same feeling as your first mmo's, since every mmo is a clone from the last, YOU ARE JUST BORED WITH MMO's! there is nothing that can be developed that will give you that "WOW MY FIRST MMO FEELING"

    Uhm....kay.

WAR isn't as great as you make it out to be, but it's not as bad as other people make it out to be either.  It's fun and I'll be buying it, but it's not the end all be all revolutionary MMO of the century.

as somebody who played EQ back in '99 I agree that everything since then felt like a clone. Having said that, the "WOW MY FIRST MMO FEELING" came back during my first public quest. WAR = WIN

see i told you, i never even reviewed the game, i never said how great it is...did i? i just said it was great. great could mean like "i feel great when i get out the shower", no big deal right. and what is this revolutionary mmo people keep talking about, compared to what? what was the last revolutionary mmo for the next to be based off? and it cant be anything close to bad if your "gonna buy it anyway"...right? we are not going to run out and buy AOC...anyway, now are we?

They all have "1st MMORPG syndrome".

Warhammer is great and will be for many years to come.

Lol did you even read what I said?

Jesus, if the game is going to be filled with spazzes like you, I'd assume just avoid it.

I don't think you understand the concept of this whole burnt out thing, as i stated before, maybe I am burnt out from MMO's. But I actually thought about it a bit and realised thats incorrect. AoC actually gave me a pretty good experience, until I hit around 60. Then it became fairly bland. WAR never gave me this feeling from start to finish.

I have been playing video games for over 20 years now and if that was the case I would have never picked up and played anything after I hit 7 years of playing. Final Fantasy for example would of gotten old after FFIII, but it didn't. I would have never been able to play CoD4 after playing Quake and play it if games got burnt out. Its things that these games did and do that WAR fails to do. WAR has to bring something to the table to make people to want to play. As it stands now there is nothing that will keep players wanting to log in.

i completely agree with you, im not trying to rate the game. my point is there is nothing wrong with the game, it's fun as hell. definately a breathe of fresh air with RVR and public quest and intergrated PVP. whens the last time you got XP for PVP.

it must have bought "interest" or "curiosity" to the table, because you been in these forums posting all day about it. try the game it's really awesome.

Try the game? My friend I have been playing the game for 6 or more months. It is nothing great. Like I said before this is my opinion, im not trying to steer anyone away from what they enjoy. If you like the game, im happy for you... plain and simple. Enjoy it and hopefully down the road someone will get it right for myself.

6 months is a half of year, i do not own one console game since N64 that i played for six month, i dont even play Madden for 6 months. maybe thats why "it is nothing great". YOUR BORED! trust me, no one is going to play a game for six months if it is garbage or even subpar to whats out on the market. will you play conan for 6 months? of course not.

Yeah, dude, my name obviously symbolizes my love for World of Warcraft. It could never possibly symbolize my disdain for a game that, in so many ways, attempts to emulate another game I hate.

You know how I know you're a fanboi? You make illogical assumptions and exclaim them as if you're some type of genius that discovered the location of the philosopher's stone.

I hate WoW, and that being said, I hate how WAR is so much like it. That is what my name is about.

  • NasirJNasirJ Member UncommonPosts: 164

I played Conan for 3 months then gave up due to numerous reasons. I played Shadowbane for 3 years and loved every minute of it. I also played EQ for over 2 years DAoC for a 2 years and still play sometimes. So it has nothing to due with getting burnt out for time played. WAR just doesn't have that extra oomph to keep me wanting to play.

Actually, I've only played the tabletop once and found that there are people who play, who make nerds look cool, so no we're not all Warhammer fanbois. I've participated in the beta for a while now and can say it is a good game and a hell of a lot more polished than AoC was around this stage in it's release.

As for this " Wow my first MMORPG " feeling I've seen so many of you describing, what meds were you on because I could really use them to " cut the edge off " when I'm at work. Every game I've ever played has been fun, but it's been just that, a fun game.

Maybe if some of you didn't candy coat your first experience you wouldn't expect so much from an MMO today.

you act is if  any mmo you pick up is supposed to last for 2 or 3 years. 6 months for any game is a long time. imagine playing chess everyday for six months. i am sure you would be bored out of your my after a half of year. for any game to occupy some one  (almost everyday) for six months of there life it must be one hell of a game. that's my point. hell i got bored with GTA 4 after one week, because its the same as all the other 3d gta series. doesn't mean its a bad game, nor am i gonna go to the GTA forums saying its a bad game cause im bored with the franchise.

I agree with the OP some people grow up one day and just dont like simple games anymore.

Mmo have always been simple they cant be complicated......

I havent played a mmo in over a year and havent played a mmo for longer then a months for 4 years!

haveI grown to old for Games.. I think so. but Im still looking to play them.

    Why???

Cause i remember having so much fun.

Now iv been off Mmo's for years. As i havent given AoC even a try (I had a feeling it was to good to be true)

Mythic on its part has been the most honest and open gaming company  ever  on Earth

Ill buy there game even if its just to reward them for that alone.

    Cheers everyone!!!!!

you get what im saying, yes it is are harsh exaggeration, but i have read at least 10 post bashing WAR starting of with "i am a veteran mmo player, i started mmos playing EQ". so it's exaggerated , but not by much. lol
