Warhammer needs cannon-fodder! Sign up and join the war, see the world, meet great people. heheh- hah. Whatever side you pick it doesn't matter! Both sides bleed.
It's a win-win situation! If you do, blizzard will notice and work harder at getting you better content. Not just 10 more levels with cut n paste terrain. In addition Mythic will get your $$ and after the new car, boat, vacation they may also work on good content. If they don't... just switch back to your first god blizzard and continue your service.
Players need to retake the industry!

I'm sure WAR is fun in some way or another, but do we really need another fantasy sword/magic, Elf, and Dwarves game?
The fantasy genre has been done to death, and I can't imagine a whole lot people want to jump onto another one. Especially since it looks like more of the same gameplay.
(It may not be more of the same (haven't played it), but it looks damn close. I wont be trying it unless there's a free trial)
Well if WAR does well, then meybe someone will do Warhammer 40k and that would be grand!
I believe they are already working on WAR40k, if I remember correctly.
Now that I would play.
40k is on the works, but no offical site yet. Thou there was an offical announcment awhile ago, forget where I seen it thou.
"The monster created isn't by the company that makes the game, it's by the fans that make it something it never was"
TY. Like all new MMORPG's have fun in the next 8 weeks.
but Pvp in WAR is slow and painful (downtime of 2 seconds on abilitiy) it has NO decent CC functions and it's a very very small investment to lure people money out of their pockets.
No open seamless world. Loading screens everywhere.
No dungeons that function at the moment.
No destructable keeps;
Fixed Siege Aie in the keeps.
Classes that suck, with ALL the same "energy" bars. Mana? rage? (never heard of).....
25 point in talents (against 61 in Wow).
And Wow has a much much much interesting World PvP in the new WotLK. (tanks ridable siege pieces, Air combat) with Arena points as a teaser.
Not even talking of the new WotLK PVE which can't even be found in your game.
See you in 2 months in WotLK. (like everyone else btw).

I'm sure I will try out WAR, but I don't think I will be switching from WoW anytime soon.
Especially not another fantasy game.
Groovy.
WoW has tanks and planes and sexy Draenei. WAR has fixed siege weapons, boring slow combat, and elf men in skirts.
WoW wins. AGAIN.
If you have a fetish for women with hooves and a tail......
This is not official site, but kind of:

I've tested War for a couple of months and played WoW from the start and let's all be honest here.... War needs tweaking/fixing to be enjoyable in the long run and for WoW and the new pvp zone it's going to be another BG and if you think WoW is going to add pvp with a purpose after 2 expansions then you're living in a dream world, PvP to get loot and more loot ,PERIOD! I see how well flying mounts fit into pvp.. Anyways.. I suggest trying them both and playing whichever you enjoy and go by what you think and not by War vs WoW or something stupid like that.
Warhammer brings some great ideas even though it has a lot of stuff from past MMOs.
One nice feature is the public quest system. You are automatically part of what is a basically a raid that starts with quests and then moves on to fighting a raid boss. Anyone in the area that participated gets a roll on the loot. This starts at early levels and is fun due to not having to ask to join the raid.
There are open groups that people can join if they wish to. People can leave their groups open so that other people can join them whenever they wish to. This also helps cut down time looking for a group.
There is advancement through PvP from near the start of the game. The first PvP is somewhat like battlegrounds in WoW, but there is also a lot of open PvP areas in the world. You can advance certain talents through PvP and others through leveling and PvE.
Overall it's pretty interesting if you like to do PvP, Raid, and Solo content.
i was in the beta for war, all i have to say is this.
I'd rather play wotlk/wow.
Sorry,
war is just too rough around the edges.
the pet ai is terrible.
the global cooldown is too slow, and it makes it painful to cast multiple instants.
TBH, the games systems just feel... old?
if i had to play a mmo other then wow, then it would definately be war. But if it was one or the other, wow is gonna win.
If war does well (which it will) all it will do is promote more clones......
Own, Mine, Defend, Attack, 24/7
If I wanted to play a game in the style of WoW, I would play WoW. But for now, I am looking for something else entirely.

Playing: Nothing
Played: Champions Online, CoX, STO, PSO, WoW, lots of free-to-play crap
Looking Forward To: DC Universe Online, Blade and Soul
If war does well (which it will) all it will do is promote more clones......
And if EVE hit a million players it'd inspire more and more clones.
But that would be all right i guess?
You see the thing simply is, wow is what the general mmorpg player wants. They don't want EVE, they don't want CoH, they don't want UO.
There are niches that want them, and there will always be niche games coming out for them. But if the situation was reversed with eve being wows success, and wow being the niche game. Would it be okay for every game to clone eve? If you say yes, you are being hypocritical

Every decent and original idea will eventually be cloned. Clones don't bring or deter success, they're simply an indication of a good idea. The thing with WoW is it's age as well as it's "general purpose"-ness. There's something for everyone, but for the really hardcore gamers, it thins out.
Now that I would play... maybe. At least it'd be more attractive to me than another fantasy MMOG...

I like WOW, but I would love to find another game now.
I'm bored of getting to 60, now 70, soon 80, and realising that my options are running dungeons over and over, or battlegrounds/arena over and over. And for what, to get better kit so I can be more effective at doing the same stuff over and over.
So I will try WAR and keep my fingers crossed it's good, however, until someone brings out a game where the world changes permanently due to players actions I don't think there will be a truly great MMO, because having an "end game" is crap, it should be the continuation of an ongoing story.

Your right most people want wow, but most havent played a different style mmo either.
I like all kinds of mmos, I want racing mmos, mech mmos, fps mmos, rts mmos, basically any game can be a good mmo. Eve is far from a perfect game, it does have some very good features, but i wouldnt want any clones. I actually hate space games so i never even made it out of the trial on eve.
Taking features is fine, but come on the differences between wow,aoc,warhammer,lotro,ddo,eq2 are miniscule. Its just like ww2 fps games eventually people will grow tired of them and we can get back to innovation in mmos. I'm not saying there bad they are actually the best made games out, just give us some more options......

Seriously... did you even play the game?? The world is as open and seamless as WoW's. During the preview weekend the only loading screens I encountered were upon entering the game or a scenario.
As for dungeons, I don't recall encountering any in the starting areas, but then again I never got any of the character's I played above level 7 as I was determined to try out each class. It didn't really matter though, as I had more fun participating in the public quests than I ever did in one of WoW's dungeons. I never had to wait around in a city or village begging others to join me. I would just stumble upon these open world "instances", and the other players were more than willing to accept me into their groups.
If you would have just payed a visit to one of the capital cities you would've seen what I'm sure are just a small fraction of the game's dungeons. The cities alone dwarf any of the end game content WoW has, and to think that they are meant to be sieged by hundreds and also contain many of the end game raiding instances is nothing short of amazing.
I can assure you that you won't be seeing me in WoTLK, as I will be too busy blowing up greenskins with my Bright Wizard and sacking cities with my mutating viking of chaos! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Both of you have a lot of things wrong. I am an elder beta tester so I know a good bit of what the game will be like. I also played WoW for over 3 years so I am well versed in it.
First off, the world is not open and seamless. the T1 zone is different from the T2 zone by an "instance". That is you have to enter a portal go to from t1 to t2 and so on. This is not really an issue though and does not take away from the feeling of the world being "seamless" You barely notice the changing of zones.
There are plenty of "dungeons" that function atm you probably have not seen any because you are not an elder tester. But have no fear, they do exist and they are lots of fun. I enjoy them more than I enjoy the dungeons in WoW. They have different wings and there can actually be more than one raid group in a dungeon. If you are looking for a "seamless" world this goes in the favor of WAR. How realistic is it to have 10 guilds killing the same boss at one time? Not very realistic.
Does WoW have destructable keeps? Thats right, they don't so why exactly are you bringing that up? Keep siege pvp is more fun than ANY pvp I encountered in WoW and I played WoW before the honor system was in the game and played it up until about 4 months ago so I have done it all.
Classes that suck because they all use the same "energy" mechanic (they are actually action points). I'm not sure if you actually PLAY WoW or not but the game is VERY between the classes. WAR has made great strides in fixing things and making them more balanced. Having all classes use the same mechanic to cast spells, make attacks, heals, ect creates a sense of balance that is SEVERELY lacking in WoW.
There may be "only 25 talent" points in the WAR talent trees but you ignoring the Renown system all together. You get 80 renown points to spend. WoW has none of that. SO if you want to do the math:
WAR= 25 "talent" points + 80 Renown Points = 105 total points spent
WoW= 61 Talent points..... the end.
WoW has NEVER had good world pvp and never will. They are pushing the game down the path of arenas and they are not going to change that. If you care about REAL pvp and not just cookie cutter arena set ups then WoW is NOT the game for you.
WoW DOES have more pve. YOu are correct. However I do feel that the pve in WAR is more fun (public quests). The fact is WAR is AOBUT pvp. It is pretty simple when it comes down to it
WoW= Pve game
WAR= PvP game
Choose what you like more. I like both and that means I will be playing WAR because it has ALOT better pvp with slightly worse pve and it is just something fresh new and fun.
If WOW if your cup of tea fine, but don't pretend like it will ever be a real pvp game. It never has, and never will be anything close to a pvp game.

What, pray tell, is "REAL" PVP? Is that where MMO players meet up in a mall and beat each other with sticks?

im to lazy too use grammar or punctuation good
Let me restate for you then....
RvR
WoW has a system where you get 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 and try and have fun in a small zone where people use LoS around pillars to hide from you and the same set ups are always the best.
WAR has massive battles where you might see 200-300+ people on a battle field with objectives and the winners actual influence how events take place and occur on the server.
If real pvp to you is running a flag from one base to another and once one team does it three times you leave and the "world of warcraft" has not changed at all then stick with WoW. Or if you enjoy going in to a zone with at the MOST 4 other people where you either have the cookie cutter set up and are overpowered or you face a team with the cookie cutter set up and are at a disadvantage then keep playing WoW.
If you enjoy world objectives, massive battles, carrying guild standards in to battle, being able to level your character while killing other players taking keeps, sieging the other factions major city ect then WAR is for you.
I guess you can decide for yourself what real "pvp" is. I Guess to me, real "pvp" is RvR
