A friend of mine just told me about this game - wants me to join him. Should I or shouldn't I?
Just curious about other players' perspectives.

The less you expect, the more you'll be surprised. Hopefully, pleasantly so.

Yes, Rohan is good. It is one of the f2p with the most content. The game play is very good, with fast and fun combat. It also has uncommon features like township battles with sieges and balistas, fishing, minigames, etc...
Just don't forget to enable x4 antialiasing and 16x anisotropic filtering in your gfx card control panel.
It's a game that you do nothing but grind.
If you say hi to someone it's probably a bot, 75% chance its a bot. I've played it and I'm done with it now. There is nothing different about this game then any other asian grinder mmo's.
"Quoted for lies"
Couldnt be farther from the truth, especially "one with the most content"
i think the op must have gotten the translation for grind worng and put it as content.
but yeah, this game is a pretty straight forward grind to max level game. Also beware of the ks'ing bots, you know its a sighn of fun gameplay when a majority of players would rather run a program than play rohan themselfs.
All in all Rohan is a great game, for what its is. It is definately a grind fest and some of the quests have a bad habit of giving crap experience making the leveling process a little bit tedious. I havent participted in the township battles yet, i have actually only begun to scratch the surface of this game, maybe putting around 50-60 hours in it total.
One of the major pluses is the music, the soundtrack to this game is outstanding. Vibrant beats provide the right thing to get you pumped up in battle while also creating a nice atmosphere for exploring the beautifully rendered landscapes. Lush forests, creepy, murky swamps, shimmering coasts... some of the views are absolutely breathtaking. Combine that with sweeping scores of orchestrated wonder and you have something great.
But music and pretty worlds cant be everything that makes a game what it is. Like i said previously, Rohan is truly by all means a grind fest. The 4x XP multiplyer makes gaining those high levels easier to a degree but you still spend countless hours fighting the same mobs, which by the way look very good too (except for the annoying Rigals). Now as the game progresses you travel from area to area completing quests for useful and sometimes useless items and xp. Standard mmo faire. As for endgame content, that is something i have yet to experience first hand. I have seen videos of gameplay and future boss fights so i am excited to delve deeper into the game.
Rohan Online is worth a shot to anyone, i believe. But like any game there are going to be some who like it and some who dont. Take the plunge, download the game and give it a few hours of your time. Hopefully you wont be disappointed.
~i'd rather be forgotten than remembered for giving in~
Like most free to play games the general chat is flooded with gold seller spam... rendering chat all but useless.
I went to the forums and a player authored armor guide had been stickied so I decided to check it out. "Deleted until Rohan is fixed" was all that was there. That tells me two things. 1) the game has enough problems to motivate the author to delete his guide 2) the forum mods/devs are not visiting the forums enough to notice that a stickied thread has been deleted by the author.
Well... at least the towns don't still have thier christmas decorations like Cabal online.
Update: I've been playing all weekend and am actually growing quite fond of this game. . . but like any relationship its usually good the first few weeks till you get to know each other's flaws.
