Ok, now explain how you get people to join the scam as it reaches the point where it gets found out. If this were a scam, then, with such a critical time fast approaching where it could easily fall apart, they would not be able to "hire" new people. Especially when you are trying to scam the local government.

and yes, in regards to online gaming, most investors seem to be rather uniformed/uneducated.

OP has a definite point. No or very little info could certainly mean it is crap.
But then AOC and Vanguard had tons of info before launch and they both = Crap.
So basically what he is saying is that anything good or bad could = Crap.
So yes, he is right.
However they do have real players in the game.
And why should they post tons of stuff about the game prior to it releasing? When did this become something that a company has to do. All it does it build up super mega hype (AOC/Vanguard) and then when the game launches you have waves and waves of people bashing it to death because it didnt live up to what they said.
I have said it before and i will say it again, BETA is crap. Most people who want into BETA dont want in to test a game, they want in to play a game for free. Then they get pissed and break NDA bashing said game because it isnt actually complete in BETA. Who would have thunk it. True there are still some REAL Beta testers out there but the large majority who apply are just looking for something for nothing.
So you do know for a FACT that they have real players in game, how?
Why do I get the feeling that these testers are really staff members of the company !

Sadly, developers think leaks are what ruins games. Yet they fail to realize that its really not the leaks. Its the dam GAME. The leak only shows faults. Shoot, I remember watching horrid videos of World of Warcraft before launch and thinking, "I will never step foot inot that game!". Then I go and buy it and play it for almost 3 years of my life. I think its just an easy way to put the blame on something. OMG THE LEAKS RUINED OUR GAME. NDA!NDA! It's like a president. "Hey you screwed up our economy! Your such a horrible president!". But have you ever taken a look at how the government really works?
Leaks dont ruin games, the game ruins itself. If your game is crap in beta 2 months before release, its going to be crap when released. Hiding this is only deceiving the consumer. And that is what an NDA is exactly. Don't beleive me, ask any street lawyer and he will say the exact thing. Want to hide away your mileage from your car when it's sold, what do you do? Now this isn't to say all NDA's are for deceiving the players. BUt when you creating something that cost millions of dollars to create and it still doesn't work right. What would you do? Trash it? HAHAHAHA, and money grows on trees right?
This world is full of people out there to score a quick buck. It's up to the consumer to know where to place hsi precious cash. Be a smart shopper and don't be easily fooled. Things that sound to unbeleiveable are usually the opposite. Now this is just a generalization. As for Darkfall, you be the judge. Do you have your facts lined up. Have they showed you enough evidence to know for sure your money will not be wasted. Is what you see for real? And will it hurt if your wrong?
staff members are not haters nor trolls, testers maybe but not that. And there is nothing wrong with having staff test out the game.

If they were going to scam investors, they will probably announcing the best WoW clone in the market, in fact better than WoW. So you can tell investors: WoW has 11 million, we will have 20 million players.
Why try to scam investors with a niche type game?

And if you think the gameplay videos and the 30 minute gameplay trailer were cinematic, it begs the question, have you ever seen a movie? Look at the AoC pre beta movies if you want fabricated gameplay.

Well..I've known Yellowbeard for many years, and he went to Aventurine and played the game, as did Asp from LoD, who is only a casual aquantence.
As for me twisting words "so cinema like and not like actual real live game play..."
Nope, sounds like he was saying the gameplay footage was cinematic footage and showed no real gameplay. And my response still stands, he needs his head examined. No twisting of words here. If that 30 minute gameplay video from Athens was scripted...
