It doesn't. That wasn't his question. His question was:

Answer: it is primarily based on seasons 1 through 8 of Stargate SG-1. At launch there will be no Atlantis content, no Wraith, no epic starship battles like we see in SGA TV episodes. There will be no Ori. In terms of story line, the game takes place several days after the conclusion of season 8, and the events that take place in the game will preceed the events of Seasons 9 and 10 of SG-1. It's really right around the time Earth is taking its first steps as a (or the?) major player in the galactic balance of power.

Atlantis is considered by the developers to be game expansion content further down the road after retail launch.

Just to clarify the above post: The Atlantis expansion is the first one planned and is pretty much a sure thing. For more information see the wiki page on expansions.

And to re-clarify... SGW is set between Seasons 8 and 9 of SG1.
