I only played the BETA, so I was wondering what the state of the game is now? I have an all access pass (for EQ2, SWG and VG) and figured I may as well play this too since it wont cost me anymore per month to play. Is it at all more casual freindly and or have a better "grab and hold" factor now that they have revamped the starting experience with update 1.7?

Since you have the Station Pass I would recommend trying it out, the game plays nicely but some complain about the end game.  They are going to begin a marketing push very soon so you should have some company leveling.  They still need to add content, which they are promising, but shouldn't bother you much if your starting out.  The ship combat is pretty darn good and the Avatar is just so so, don't make the mistake many do thinking its a button mash, you will be sorry later as its all about stragety(balance).  There is a bad balance on most servers between the nations, Brits and Pirates all over the place like cockroaches with a low population of Spanish and French. The RvR is pretty fun and the key to it's long range success.
