so they have given up completely on AoC it seems...
if it was any different, they would not pull people from AoC to let them work on sth new....

This has been planned for a while now. As much as I hope nobody on earth is stupid enough to even give another FailCom MMO another shot, they say that the third times the charm!
FYI, Secret World is not news anymore. They announced it last year.

can you believe it?!?!?! Failcom is actually giving up pretty much on Age of crap and just going to make a new one. Kind of amazing if you ask me, I have never actually heard of a game company giving up on a game they made and making a new one lol. They must be hurting pretty hard $$$ wise. Good to hear this though, maybe they will make a good game...prolly not....but maybe.

They have been working on this for a long time. I even think it uses the same game engine as AoC.
The fact that they are working on a expansion for AoC is somewhat disturbing though.

Well my only concern is, will they start shifting their focus more into The Secret World and ignore AoC or will they hire more devs?
With the screwing we got on AoC I cant believe anyone would buy another game from them. But if they want to blow more money thats great, just makes them sink that much faster.
The AoC expansion is just more vaporware hype that will never materialize to keep people full of hope and paying to wait for it.
exactly.... so it seems it is not news, but it still means they are a devided team atm. makes you wonder how much effort they put or will put into AoC
According to FC they will not be shifting any resources to the secret world for "some time yet". But then that doesn't really mean anything. In six months they'll probably be back to programming AoC with two cracked out monkies and a drunken hammer.
Yup. I'm just afraid they will do the same to AoC, like they did with AO (granted AO is an old game and most folks are on F2P).

Question has to be this - how many gamers out there will ever touch another Funcom product?
From my personal POV that game label is dead and buried and I will be damned if I ever give them so much as another penny. And not because the game stinks (in my opinion) because there are many games out there that stink. It is the cynical lies that did it for me, I couldn't stomach it again.
I think I read somewhere that the next Funcom release would be browser/java based game. Dont know if thats true.
Anyway, they should close down AO, and put all resources on AoC to try save anything left of it. I think players are tired of delays. But some players are stupid, so Funcom will make some money from those ones ofc. With other words, people who lives in a fantasy hope for the better future world. "I heard Funcom is going to release 'input here' in a few weeks, so I am going to resubscribe." Those are the nubs that feed the eternal lie factory of Funcom. Why would Funcom stop the lies now? Only nubs left in the game.
