I was in the Warhammer Beta preview weekend and i can tell you without a doubt that nobody is going to be playing this over Warhammer. The game has more content than WoW , amazingly fun combat , stable , and on full settings makes Darkfall graphics look like some retarded child made them.
Well this statement is wrong because I would prefer Darkfall over WAR if it delivers what it says it will. Graphics will carry a game for a while but gameplay will create a community and draw people to it. Darkfall should deliver this and people like me who are looking for a true sandbox game will play it over anything else. I have been playing AoC for 4 months and the graphics is incredible but ultimately the gameplay will let it down.

Great news! That will cut down on the numbers of the whining Zergers in DF.

I dont know much about DF's publisher, Audiovisual, but aparently DF liked them enough to sign up with them
What's there to know?
It's some unknown DVD replication company.
Age of Mourning used the same "publisher." Now, this is getting interesting.
I call BS Enigma and stop trying to insinuate Darkfall is Mourning all over again and is a scam. The company behind Mourning self-published. What was the name of that company again? Vertical Horizons or some crap. That company, as far as I know, is out of business.
Actually i think he talks about the artwork, the horrible char animations, the total lack of atmosphere and yes the graphics do look sub-par (nobody here asks for flashy wow crap)..the whole thing looks like glued together. i expected much more for all that dev time they had and i think people will be pretty disappointed..its sad, im totally not happy about that fact.
Alright Scrooge, no atmosphere? How much of the video did you watch? In one section of it, you see giant floating islands that are connected by moving ice platforms, with icicle's covering the bottom of it. You see a flowing river with a person on a raft floating down it, while people fish around them. Give me a break people, come up with a real argument. Look I will even be a fair sport about it and give you one.
The animations on the flames during the end castle siege looked a bit tacked on. It seemed to me that it was more of a "Lets throw this in for show" then it would look like in game. Even then it was poorly animated so it did not have the same effect as it should of. There now go start that on another thread so we can all argue about it for a good 50 posts before it gets locked.

People comparing that two games are hurting both games at the same time (doesnt matter if they are trolls, fanbois or whatever).
I want DF community to be (most at least) hardcore PvPers that wont care of losing loot when they die or getting ganked in any place by anyone. If we get non hardcore pvpers in DF, then the whine will start... and history tells me Aventurine will start getting lots of messages on how to make this game less FFA PvP with full looting. And the focus of the game will be in danger.
Neither I dont want WAR community with people trying to duel and QQing because their classes arent balanced for that (but for RvR)... then Mythic will start getting messages on how to rebalance classes... and the RvR focus will be in danger. Neither I want people that will be looking for 8 hours PvE raids... first, becuase that is not in WAR and, second, because then some smart guy in Mythic may think it will be cool to start having uber PvE radis.
I lived all this stuff in UO, SWG, DAoC, etc, etc, etc. That games lost their focus because people whined and people whined because they didnt accept the core designs of that games. It was ok... it was the begining of the industry... none of us knew better in what we were getting. Now we have the opportunity to tell people exactly what each game is about and letting people choose what's better for them. That wont make the whine go away but I hope it will minimize it a little. At least, if anyone signed in DF, goes out of a city and get ganked... thayt person wont be able to complain (if he knew in what kind of game he was getting into)
This time I hope for people to know what game they are buying. For them to fully understand it.
In the end both games are different and only compete for a small portion of players (the ones in the middle between RvR and FFA PvP)... the rest of the players will go to DF or WAR depending of their preferences. I dont see this two games competing but more like complementing.
Finally, after all these years, I may get a succesor for DAoC and a succesor for UO/SB/AC. Both "paths" or "kinds" of MMOs are pretty much different.
Why people keep mixing them? Do people fully understand what RvR and FFA PvP are? Yes, they both PvP but they not the same at all. I really dont want people in a game, if they will complain later of the core design of it... and all the discussions seem to be like "my game is better than yours". The discussion should be, imho, to clearly tell the player community what each game is about.
Btw, gameplay > graphics. WAR and DF seem to game ok graphics for what they intent to be. No one promised their graphics would change the human mind. The graphics need to be as good as they can but with gameplay and performance with higher priority, imo. As long as we can have massive battles without lagging like monkeys, I am happy.

Amazing they chose to go with them with all the other offers from major video game publishers they must have gotten.. Eh???
wake up.
Unknown DVD replication company? Are you serious? They're one of the biggest publishers in Europe!
"Age of Mourning used the same "publisher." Now, this is getting interesting."
This also is not true, Darkfall is the first game this company has ever published. Apparently it was good enough for them to set up an entirely new division just for the game.

Nice attempt though.
