Nothing is wrong buying a system now however if you don't want to spend much. DDR2 pc will be very cheap. If you want performance go intel and get an e8400 or higher cpu. If you want a great rig on a budget get a amd 5400 black edition it has unlocked multi and will oc on stock just by raising the multi and reach 3ghz.
