Recovering characters on trial server?!?

I have already asked SoE about this, and the response was singularly unhelpful (they sent me a link to the upgrade.vm site, and it should have been obvious from the text of my question that I had already been there).

 

I played a week of so on the Escape to Norrath trial server before entering the code to activate the full game. How can I recover those characters and transfer them to a regular server? The sony.com/upgrade.vm website says to login to the character and type "/movelog" in chat; it suggests alt-tab back into the game to do this. But once you are out of the trial, I can see NO WAY to log back into the trial server characters! Both the original EverQuest launcher and the new Station Launcher only give access to the full game. The in-game server list is only the regular servers. The "switch" button on the EQ Station Launcher only gives access to the Test server. Logging into a server in the full game and pressing the "trial" button sends your character back into the trial even if he had already left it; it can't access Escape to Norrath.
