I'm still waiting for my ea store beta key, i purchased the digital download and so far have only received a conformation email.

  • adrianemeryadrianemery Member Posts: 250

I can understand why EA is ignoring GAME (due to their bitter feud) but Amazon.co.uk as well, play and HMV must have chucked them a huge backhander for the headstart and ingame items.

Direct2Drive has released the code already .

  • ronan32ronan32 Member Posts: 1,418

You would think EA would release the beta codes first considering it is their beta..i find that odd.

  • SmikisSmikis Member UncommonPosts: 1,045

anyone from uk can call play.com and ask if they still send early access codes.. since its said on theirs webside that codes will be sent on 28.. and its past that.. and ye im far away from uk :) so calling them is same as preordering from ea shop :X

    Just some more information:

    EA Online store dates:

    Pre-Release Beta Access: 06/09/08

    Full release: 18/09/08

You can get some discount from the EA store by clicking on the 'Pre-order >' button for Warhammer, selecting the digital download and langauge, and once you are in the 'My Cart' screen just click on the EA logo or anything that will take you out of the cart and a pop up (enable pop-ups) will appear asking you not to leave and offering you 10% discount.

I paid £35.99 for each of my copies. Yay.

No it is GOA's beta as they are the publisher (Never understood why EA hires a third party publisher.). It is EA's game (Well from one of the Branches Mythic Entertainment). However I do not think it would really matter whatever they release them tommorow or today. You can not input it anywhere anyway.

However D2D.co.uk has already released the keys only hours after the statement made by GOA.

Why does EA store charge £39.99 & D2D charge £32:99?

Seeing as the American pre-orders seem to be running out I took the jump and ordered from Play (mainly because I want a box, they are usually reliable and the fact that I can't get to a gamestore any time soon). Would have liked the open beta though. I'll keep this updated though if people have any more info.

    HI all,

I haven't had much luck trying to pre-order the UK (EU) copy at eastore.ea.com or direct2drive.co.uk.

My first order on EA got canelled - with no reason. and I could not re-order.

I then tried D2D.co.uk only to have some country restriction rubbish.

I've been trying to order a copy for the last 3 days now! since my first copy was cancelled.  I tried almost everything and current have a D2D support ticket (which I have updated twice) now open for 2 days.

Today, I tried a new combination of account/credit card (same PC) and Now have another order from EA.

But of course I'm still nervous that it will be cancelled again.

My question to other eastore.ea.com buyers in the UK is.

Do you have a unlock code yet and have you been able to down load the client on the EAdownload manager?

Thanks in advance for your help on this. 8)

EA are useless - order from them at your peril.

I ordered from D2D and had my OB key 5 mins later - where do you live?

  • HazukiStyleHazukiStyle Member UncommonPosts: 49

Glad to see that we're all in the same boat.

I ordered a SE copy off of play.com and phoned them just to query about being emailed the codes on the 28th (I ordered after this date and was worried I may miss them).  The customer service guy seemed nice enough and had heard of the warhammer online codes (obviously had other people inquiring about them), he merely took my details and said he would send them onto the promotions department and to expect to recieve them soon enough.

I trust in play.com's reputation...  hoping they get the codes to me on time, but as long as the game arrives @ release i'll be happy, feel no need to rush things.

Hope people will update us if they do recieve the codes.

    Hi Spaceweed,

I live in the UK, tried numerous times to order from D2D.co.uk and eastore  with UK accounts and uk credit cards all under my name.  It just doesn't make any sense.

The eastore.ea.com  just kept coming back with a no-chance matey reply.

The D2D.co.uk just kept coming back with 'Country restricted' - rubbish. Waiting on support ticket reply, hopefully tomorrow they will be back and reply.

    Hoody 8)

Anyone from the UK ordered from eastore.ea.com and have the unlock code or have downloaded from ea download manager?

    Thank in advance 8)

Got to go now, Night all 8) 2330 here.

I managed to order from the EA store but am now in the process of canceling my order. i say process becuase they need you finger print and blood type to cancel a bloody order.

D2D UK saved my arse tho not only was it cheaper but i got my code 3 mins after ordering.

My advice for everyone avoid the EA store because its shit plain and simple.

Just wanted to add that I also recommend direct2drive.co.uk (www.direct2drive.co.uk/1/6566/product/Buy-Warhammer-Online:-Age-of-Reckoning-UK-(Pre-Order)-Download), they sent out my OB key the moment I verified my e-mail address. Oh, and if you have any problem receiving your key, make sure you click the "Send Info" button - mate of mine somehow didn't see it and was wondering why we all had keys and he didn't.

To the guy having problems, you're not using any kind of anonymous web browsing program are you? Or scripts and whatnot? Try ordering it from a friends/family PC?

Sounds like your ISP's IP address range isn't on the latest GEOIP file list yet.
When somebody is trying to determine what country your in they check your IP address against the GEOIP file and look up what country and ISP that is registered with.
Fast growing ISP's keep on buying blocks of IP addresses and it takes times for the GEOIP file to be updated and distributed, Microsoft is terrible at updating theirs and months go by before they even consider getting the most up to date one.
It sounds like this may be what is happening with you.

Nah, still havent recieved my code, but then the headstart is quite a long way off (couple of weeks).  Going by play.com's reputation I'm trusting I will get the codes on time.  They have generally been very good at getting products to me before.

    Here's to hoping.

I'm in the process of cancelling from EA. If they don't reply to me in 24 hours as they promised, tomorrow I will return the invoice directly from VISA. Or I will try...
