I found AoC to have the most boring feel of any MMO I have played. There was just something missing with it. The best thing it had was good enviroment graphics for the ground and grass.
Characters were very plain, Lineage 2's characters look way better and its 4 years old. The combat system in AoC was very slow and made you micro manage your character to fight. And the quests were just variations of asian mmo grind quests, kill 20 of these, go there and kill him, ect. Combine that with nothing to do at higher levels but grind on villa's or billboard quests.
Aoc is just a stealthed asian MMO's but they are free and f2p and have more fun pvp.
As far as AoC being the best they are;
best at lies
best at terrible patches
best at mediocre game play
best at useless crafting
best at keeping noobs with hope things will get better eventually maybe possibly sometime next year or 2.
By L2 you mean lineage 2? I had thought of giving that a try but some folks mentioned that it was all gold farmers with bot accounts... Is this true?
I can't speak for L2 now because I haven't played in over a year and a half, but yes there were lots of bots/gold farmers in that game. But the game was great because it was insanely hard to level at higher levels, so it felt almost like an accomplishment when you would level up. Plus, when you upgraded to a new set of weapons or armor, it would make a vast difference over the stuff you were previously using. Unlike "other" games where the difference is so minimal that you don't really care about getting new gear.
The cut-throat price of items in L2 was aggravating but it also created a very realistic economy, I dare say the best economy in any game I've played. For it's time, L2 was a fantastic game considering how good the graphics were and how the world was huge and seamless.
U dont know the fact that almost all the players of AOC are not posting or looking on the forums. Im sure most of whiners are from "some companies" that are afraid they'll loose money....because AOC has a verry solid community and 500k subscribers...U dont know that many people bought the game but didnt played because they were in holiday... I agree with u the game still needs fixes to be made....but what mmo was perfect at the beggining? U forgot WOW becomed playable after 1 year...and even after 4 years it still have some problems... Yes , Funcom promised us many things ..but a few are live now... Im sure that until october the major problems will be fixed. In 2 weeks the PVP system will be implemented. Soon they will include many new areas and many new quests( early september patch (version 2.0+) In some months many people that left will return..and others (new) will join the game because many will realise that aoc is a mature game for mature players. Im not intend to convince u to play AOC ..u are free to choose what to play...but stop posting negative things about AOC . Ok what is real is real..but many of u post negative things about a game that u didnt played it. Maybe most of u will laugh of my post...but we'll see who will laugh better in some months... Yes ..there are many interesting games that will launch this autumn...WAR and maybe Darkfall. They worth a look but Im sure the same whiners will post negative things about WAR and Darkfall too.. And many of u u'll see WAR is interesting but childish and Darkfall too late for this times. I preordered WAR and Ill preorder Darkfall too...Ill give them a try...But Im sure AOC will remain first option for me . Why I preordered them? Because after AOC they are the most interesting games and I want to see them. I played a lot of games since Ultima, until AOC. The longest time I played Lineage2 and WOW ..after them is Vanguard and then AOC. I saw and played over 35 mmos..but the best was 4 :AOC, VANGUARD, WOW, LINEAGE2. AOC IS THE BEST AND WILL BE THE BEST. Come back to AOC, join AOC and u'll se a different game since from begining. Excuse my english.
This may be the worst written post I have ever read....it sounds like you need to spend more time in school and less time playing games.....WoWs beta was 100000000000000x better than AoCs beta for polish......WoWs problem was that they didnt anticipate that the ywould get so many players at launch...... If the problems that plague many ehre with AoC dont bother you then we are happy for you..... Just remember alot of the people that are angry were once happy with the game also......

Started playing AoC for its advertised PVP. Quit playing last week...
For those who think salvation is in the PVP and gem nerf patch, login to test and have a go yourself before posting anything positive or negative.
My experience on test suggests that Quake I PVP had tons more depth than AoC PVP does at present. It bloody well played better anyway.
