A undeserved banning from Funcom

Ok here is the back story: I was dis-pleased with AOC and I wrote a fairwell post (I know some dont like those but it wasnt a bad one considering others, but what follows is even more idiotic)  I took about a 2 week leave from AOC and then decided to go back when my guild begged me too. So I re-subbed and noticed that my forum privledges were banned, well as I do have a younger brother who lives with me he (17) was playing on my account as well and he wanted to use the forums for info and such! So my brother using my computer and using my email e-mailed them. here is what happened!

            Greetings,

I see you have posted a goodbye thread that contained content that is

against the social guidelines of the online community. In this post you

also noted that you were quitting after flaming in the rest of the post.

Your banning was set in the idea that you were not coming back. Should

this be changed?

If you have any further questions or need further assistance regarding

this issue please respond directly to this email.

Regards,

GM Genieva

 This is my brothers reply:

Yes this should due to the fact that the original owner of this account is

my brother and I'm using his account too, thank you

He wasn't taking over the account he was just playing it from time to time- I see were the GM got confused! but here is the reply:

                Greetings,

> Unfortunately, because the transfer of account ownership and the sharing

> of accounts is a violation of our End User License Agreement and Terms

> of Service, I have had to close the account, as per the instructions of

> the Community Manager when reviewing your last response. If you wish to

> continue to play Age of Conan you will have to create your own account.

So I replied to the GM and haven't heard anything back for sometime, Just wanted people to have an insight on how the 4th reich is ran over at FC, at this point I really don't care if they give the account back and in all honesty if they are banning people who share one account per household is completely retarded to me! Furthermore for them to say well we didn't think you were comming back so we banned your forum privledges is even more communist. Anyway good luck to you all in AOC you'll need it.

no big surprise, dont let little kids talk to devs.

And no real surprise about the fourm thing, they have gotten a really bad reputation lately for random bannings and crap explainations.

Failcom is goin down, no more BS lies and PR can save them now

srry man, but blizzard and i'm sure other companies do that too...had a few guildies in wow that got banned because they let thier wife play on that same account. it sucks, but its one of those things that you agreed to.

i'm not saying this isn't a stupid rule....just that it is not a new rule

edit: the forum situation over there is complete BS though...i'm not going to defend that in the least. f*** funcom forum mods

I don't even see why you admitted to sharing account to their face when you weren't even asked. You just kicked yourself in the balls and asked why it hurts so bad. Only MMO I can think of that lets you share an account with a minor was FFXI, not sure if they've changed it.

Really? How would Blizzard know they are sharing their accounts with their wifes o.O?

Also, Failcom is fail. You can get perma-banned for an extra dot.

Yea no kidding what a joke, next thing they will have DNA testers for log-ins heh. You would think tho that they would want to hold on to some of there failing community. Anyway WAR starts on the 7th (beta) hold me over till something better comes out.

It's stated in the EULA man.  Like someone already said, it's an old rule.  Don't account share.  Some companies ban for it, others don't.  It's really up to them.  They didn't do anything wrong, you did.  So you can bitch all you want.

because the dudes wife put in a ticket and when asked what had happened, she told them that she would log onto his account to farm and just use hers to raid (i forgot the exact reason for the ticket, its on our guild website, but i don't really feel like digging for it)....they both got banned for sharing both accounts. they got em back later though. BECAUSE BLIZZARD ANSWERS EMAILS....now i'm pissed at funcom since i've been emailing them for two weeks with a title called "uncalled for forum ban" and the only response that i've gotten from them was "your account seems fine, i don't see the problem..you can still log onto your character right?"

Personally if you take the time to read the EULA then you have ranked yourself up there with TOOLBOXES, anyway I bought the game and I was paying for the account and it was played on MY computer in MY house, and as far as im concerned who ever wants to play from my computer can, BECAUSE its my game I paid for it, its my account because I'm paying for it, and its my house because I pay for it and I make the rules in it, oh I forgot the internet service, I also pay for that. NO EULA covers that, the only mistake was my brother e-mailed them!
