Voice chat

Is there any word about this game coming out with voice chat?

WoW finally got the idea and added it, star wars galaxies of all games got it.

Im on the dumb side of setting up a teamspeak or vent server of my own set up for me/friends/guildies.   It would be awesome if they added it shortly after release.

Ive actually always found voice chat it be annoying, nothing like listening to a 12 year old scream at the top of his lungs from his mothers basement about dieing.  ( This was a generalization, no need for any of you to get all uppity about it.  No 12 year olds were harmed in the creation of this message.... to my knowledge. )

"I need to go my Mom needs to use the computer", is such a classic.

The problem as WoW found out is that No-One uses it.  Forced voice chat just pissed everyone in WoW off and so now no one uses it.  Small Vent servers are free so why not use them?

Oh yea ive heard that line before, or something like it lol..

The thing is, i dont care for vent for massive groups.  Its just that ive got me, and probably 5 RL friends who like to have a way to BS about RL stuff  (and the game too of course).

That being said, anything that you guys know of that is FREE and pretty easy to set up for something like that?

Typing is more my favorite if I'm just trying to play a game for fun.

If I'm looking for a more "hardcore" aspect such as huge raids, teamspeak/vent is always a better choice.

Theres nothing to ruin a gaming experience like seeing a huge orc that sounds like a 13 year old boy

Guess I should have gave you some more information :)

    - You can host your own Vent or Teamspeak for Free and with around 10 or less players there shouldn't be any lag issues.

    - You can also buy a vent server for around $2-$3 a month at most sites for up to 10 users.

    - There are quite a few sites such as http://www.freevent.net/ that provide a server for people to use; but it is not private for you.

    - There are a few others sites out there too.

The best option for a small server is to host your own if you have a high speed connection.  You have full control over it's handling and you don't have to worry about paying for anything.

Any game I've played that has integrated VoIP usually has really really horrible sound quality.  Volume levels too low, distortion, volume differences (the tank sounds whisper quiet by the DPS guy sounds like he's screaming at the top of his lungs, in a wind tunnel, and it's not even his fault, it's just a difference in hardware and settings between the two) and other stuff like that is usually unbearable for me in integrated VoIP, to the point where I shut if off.

If I'm doing anything serious I'll be with a guild or group on Ventrilo which gives much more control over audio.  On top of that, if I'm pugging lighter fare I'd honestly rather see text than hear a gruff, manly smoker voice every time the elf "girl" in my party "speaks".  I'm not an RP-er by any stretch, but some things are just too jarring.

It'd be like grouping with a bunch of doctor girlfriends.
