I'm in the same boat. I'm going to try it just because that's what "everyone" is doing this fall, but will probably spend more time in EVE. Just not ready for yet another fantasy level up game, RVR not withstanding.
darkfall should be in beta by mid october lol
no levels, not your average cookie cutter wow/eq build mmo.
Are you new to following Darkfall? It's being "going into beta" for at least 3 years now.
I'm actually excited about WAR, but if you're a gamer that WAR doesn't appeal to, that's fine. Different games for different players.
I can't see how some people are getting excited about Aion. It looks totally meh to me, but some people are ga ga over it.
Nope, not excited at all. Like all the other MMO's out at the moment - Same game, different graphics
That's pretty much how I feel about it. I don't mind that it's a standard fantasy setting, heck I'm comfortable with that and really have no problem with it, but from what I've read about the working of the game I can't get excited because it sounds like just the same linear, theme-park stuff all over again.
F2P and bad P2P are like poison in MMO business, the more and longer you play, you lose feeling about new P2P. In the end, you may back to the single game.
I think the thing that bothers me is WAR is basically just a combination of DAoC and WoW......It doesnt bring alot of new blood to the genre and basically is taking concepts that most of us are getting very bored with (ie the Elf/dwarf/orc fantasy setting)..... It is no coincidence that it looks alot like WoW as they are just trying to take what has been successful and make their money off it.......Im sure it will sell over a million copies as they are targetting the exact same crowd as WoW did (except pvp oriented) but i dont think it introduces anything new to the genre.....
No you aren't. I wasn't excited the day it was announced and I still am not now. They should have went with 40k for something different and innovative.
You're not alone. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I too was kinda meh when hearing about WAR. Heck I didn't even know it had come out this weekend until someone at work told me their kids bought it. Guess once you get older, video games don't become as important as when you're a kid with all the time in the world.
As soon as anyone can tell me why the heck WAR is any different than WoW, maybe I'll get excited. But from what I can tell, even "RvR" is just another name for PvP, and to the extent it contains any distinct features, it's probably not anything that Blizzard couldn't easily incorporate in a patch if they wanted to (if they haven't done so already).

First off I have nothing against the game. I am sure that its going to be fun but after how badly AoC failed me I don't really want to play a new MMO. I am honestly more excited about games like Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 that my girlfriend and I can just play together. Its not just WAR either, AoC made me not enjoy my chosen MMO, LOTRO, due to the fact that it destroyed my guild. LOTRO has an expansion coming out this fall and I am already religating it to a 2009 purchase after I play SW:FU, Gears 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Tom Clancy End War, Tom Clancy Hawx, Sean White snowboarding and Call of Duty World at War. I'm sure there are others I will play but that is besides the point. I honestly believe that AoC may have ruined my enjoyment of MMOs for ever and it SUCKS.
No WAR for me. I'm sure Mythic did a good job, but I'm not into linear game worlds nor PVP. I'll have to wait for some other game to replace WOW. Might even have to look at some indie gem hidden out there.

The only reason I am excited is that I hope it will pull all the immature ganker-wannabe's from other games that I play.
you're not the only one.
it looks like it'll be a good game just not a game that suits me.
Guild Wars 2 is my religion
