iwas really hoping i would liek this game, but i just dont know.
It feels too much like WOW. The gameplay is fun, with the new adittions and all, but it still feels like WOW. Im really not liking teh simply poke and slash combat. I think the magic looks cool though. The graphics are kinda squichy to me as well. They seem outdated. But mayb thats just the AOC in me talking. Overall. i dont thfeel liek im playing anything new, just a refurbished and updated style of play. hey its just my opinion.

Well sadly, I cannot see MMORPGs except for when and if Darfall comes out, to change. Good thing however that you might want to do is veer away from MMORPGS and go for other games. Lots of great games coming out between oct-dec. Best advice i can give.

Based on the videos, darkfall looks awful. There ain't really much to look forward to in terms of mmorpgs. sigh, blizz have got it easy
i agree with you, I was shocked. Being a female I can tell you that there will not be many females on Warhammer. I wish AOC would get it together, I lost interest but for the most part I knew Warhammer was coming out and thought I would just play it so I didn't get into AOC (pvp was getting to me also) For all us females out there or for the older female gamers, if your looking for something AOC is worth watching and then trying out once they get that pvp patch in there. Or I guess there is always Warcraft but if you can't spend your life on that game, it is not worth playing once you level up. It will be interesting to see what happens with Warhammer,
yes, MMOs seem to have reach a standard of how they are presented to it's all up to the rest to grab you. When i started playing WOW i had been playing COH and my first words about WOW was that it was COH with armor.
Just "FORGET" WOW for a bit and try to enjoy the world. Try to dive in and if you can't you can't.
MMEEEEEHHHHH!!!
Probably just a matter of personal taste, if you don't like the GCD style combat you don't like it. I know I hated the AOC combat system, making me push 5 buttons in a repetitive pattern for each decision I make just bored me to tears, never seen a more boring combat system. But some people absolutely love it, just a matter of different tastes.
Maybe players are expecting too much from games, people can just throw out all the "brilliant" ideas they want but actually creating a game with everything that people want isnt a easy task. There are always gonna be people who absoulutey love a game or certain game features and then other people who hate a game for the same reasons someone loves it, or hates the game features that other love. And then there are people like myself who will play just about any mmo as long as they can find a few things they like about it.
And seb I was just curious as to why not many women will be playing, I'm not in anyway trying to say your wrong was just wondering since your a female why female players will be turned away from this game.
It was always obvious that WAR would be almost the same game as WoW, and AoC is juts a really BAAD game in ever aspect.
To me the only game that makes me raise an eye brow atm is Darkfall, obviously its not the graphics and honestly after seeing how much the graphics helped AoC (sarcasm btw) as a whole perhaps you should rethink the importance of graphics in an mmo?
The things that make Darkfall different is all the others things like, no levels, no classes, no restrictions at all on who you can kill and when (unless of course they kill you first), building cities, full loot, none gear based game, fps combat system, naval warfare etc etc.
These are the things that make a game "not like WoW" but you also have to ask yourself if perhaps you are only capable of playing a game as limited and shallow as WoW, WAR or AoC or if you actually can handle more.
but you know what will ruin that game?

This game is the most fun I've had since DAOC. WoW can't come close for me.

Most fun I have had from a game in years. Runs smooth for a beta and combat is alot of fun.
RVRing with guildies whether it be scenarios, keeps, or just questing/public questing with friends is ridiculously fun.
Most fun I've had in an MMO since I played my first one.
