WoW Clone, Not WoW Clone... Who cares?!

I know, from the posts I`ve read, that alot of you here describe  the game as a WoW clone. Not only this but nearly every mmo. This game has bosses like WoW , This one has HP bar stolen from WoW, OMG an Orc the game is a WoW Clone.

 

Well, I guess, even if it was, that WoW itself is stolen from UO and other mmos made before. But loads of gamers liked WoW due to the fact that WoW always gives you something to do.

 

So lets talk about the other one, Runes of magic. For me, I don`t care if the game is a WoW clone or even if it`s WoW  itself taken copy/paste because this is a problem between companies and not mine. And nobody, actually, cares about what`s original. In this world the better wins all. It`s like buying a new mobile phone you don`t care which company created the mobile phones you just buy the better one. Same goes for everything. So if this game turned to be better that WoW, Then I`ll just pay a 50$ for item mall (avater, pet, and whatever else) then just pay 20$ per year for additional consumables, if there is any.

 

Anyway this is all I wanted to say so if you don`t accept it I don`t care. And if you do then I guess you did the right thing.

I can see why a lot of ppl would base this as a WoW clone very similar graphics e.t.c but tbh i think this game is much more in depth than WoW player housing and mounts from the get go and duel class system FTW it is actually quite a nice game to play. the only thing i can see ppl flaming this game about is that it is too similar to the Supposed King of the MMO market WoW which if it is than that is a good thing.

I would recommend trying this game when it releases as it has a lot to offer probably more than any other F2P on the market and imo a bloody good F2P of that.

I agree with OP. Everything is going to be the "same" per se. Yea this looks like WoW (which i don't like) but it seems like it has some better gameplay mechanics than that.

I'm actually really excited about this game, and my g/f is just as excited.  We both signed up for the Beta and are waiting impatiently for the keys, lol. But i'm sure some trolls are going to make their way into here (like they do every forum on this site) and just flame that everything is like WoW, but we'll just have to take it with stride i guess

As more and more wow players get bored with their aging game, they are bound to head out into the mmo community hating everything they see/try.

I just hope that their new expansion is good enough to keep the wow trolls at bay for a while.

Every post i see regarding this "wow clone crap" i must state that WOW IS A CLONE OF EVERQUEST..... EVERQUEST ON EASY MODE+ KIDDIE GRAPHICS = WOW

What can I say? Finally the F2P MMORPGs are copying something decent! xD;.. jk...

I'm really looking forward on this game... and if it's as cool as it looks, and have elements from WOW, I KNOW i'll be playing it for a long time =D

While the graphics style do look a lot like wow many of it's ideas makes it closer to EQ2 than wow. But who cares, computer games always steals from eachother, wow was a EQ clone in the same sense.

This is RoM not WoW, they are both MMOs & apart from a similar art-style - That's where the similarities end.

It has PvE, PvP, SvS, GvG - Guild Castles, Player-housing, Sieges, mounts, harvesting / crafting etc

The graphics are better, there are more features, the gameplay is more advanced & IMO RoM is superior to WoW in most aspects - Which is even more impressive when you consider it's F2P.

Try & get yourslef a CB-Key, give the game a go - or if not, wait until release & see what i mean.

I've been watching this game in the past week and from the screenshots,videos I saw and articles I've read,seems to be one of the best if not the best f2p mmorpg,probably even better the guild wars,but this will know in some months.

Anyway,the game has big potencial,

From what I know the world is not instanced but can anyone from closed beta confirm this?

WoW a copy paste product? I dont agree with that at all, it borrowed heavily from other existing MMORPGs but it was its own type of MMORPG with new features like a heavily linear quest driven progression, very fast leveling compared to other MMORPGs and instancing (something that I find a contradiction in a MMORPG but what do I know).

Combine that with Blizzards excellence when it comes to producing solid games and you got an MMORPG unrivaled by others.

However, as a hardcore ex UO and AC player, I personally didnt like it (mainly because I feel linear progression and instancing has no place in MMORPGs) and I dont want to play another WoW clone so it does matter a great deal to me if this game is a WoW clone or not.
