Wotlk and my pet..

I have had my pet (a boar) named "buttbiter" since l10.

She is always hungry, fairly stupid, but she will follow me to l80..

Just the fact that she survived all this time deserves a buff imo...

Perhaps a new skill or 2 would be nice..

Like peeing on a tree or something..

Pets are getting talent trees so you can personalise the pet how you want. In addition all pet families get a different talent tree so pets will be unique.

I have an orc hunter.  At level 10 I went over to the Tauren newbie lands and tamed a lvl 2 boar and have had it ever since (named her Grok).  It's one of the really light brownish yellow ones with the spiked maine

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your boar will actually be getting a nerf in a few weeks.  Boars are losing 'charge' which was basically the reason I always had one. Makes pve that much faster when I don't have to wait for her to get to the target.

There are a lot of really neat changes coming to pets, unfortunately boards are about the only pet that will be worse off (in my opinion).

i have had Boris (Boar) for about 2 years... and have no plans to abandon him.

In the last wrath beta build Boars got charge back (charge back in tanking tree), for some reason blizzard put charge in the DPS tree.. they have now moved it to the Tank tree (where boars are).. so Boar have not lost charge... unless blizzrd do another u-turn.

    commentary on boars from 08/22

    forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html

We actually debated this issue quite a bit. In the end it came down to a call about whether it was more fitting to boars to keep Charge or whether it was more fitting for the boar to be a tanking pet.

The tanking pets were all going to get Intervene instead of Charge, since it let them be more useful as an OT, and we didn't think it was worth the cost of making changes or exceptions to that design just to preserve boars Charging.

later, in the same thread, this was posted

Next patch Tenacity pets will lose Dash and gain Charge. See how that feels.

We'll switch the Boar back to benefiting from Charge as well.

We're not pulling Charge from Ferocity.

The ideas is that Charge is generally better than Dash, but is deeper in the tree. Under this new change, for Tenacity Intervene is better and deeper.
