games that are not worth a damn like to do thier Open Betas through FilePlanet? Could it be the Devs are attempting to hide the game from the rest of us?
it's part of a corporate synergy... File Planet offers quite a range of advertising for games, many games work with IGN (Parent Company of FilePlanet) and NewsCorp (Parent Company of IGN) to get their game adspace and show off their game. When you get reviews on IGN (Gamespy/etc) and previews, they often want your game on FilePlanet for "Exclusive Betas" because that will bring in FilePlanet subscriptions.
If FilePlanet offered your company a few cents per subscriber during that time, your company would do it as well. Where there's a $ (or insert your appropriate currency symbol there) to be made, there's somebody who will figure out how to make it. FilePlanet is well known and established.
I remember 2 years ago reading an article "Gaming on my FilePlanet Subscription"... for like $15/y, he continuously played Betas.
So are they "hiding" it from you? no
Are they advertising it to people in greater circles? yes
After all, if you can afford a fileplanet subscription, you can afford a MMO Subscription.

That logic is flawed, i can afford a MMO subscription, i cant for the life of me, see the benifit of paying for a file planet subscription... unles of course you think paying for free trials, demos and beta tests is a perk.

CaesarsGhost' logic is not flawed, it's fact, just because you don't see the benefits to yourself doesn't imply flawed logic, it implies that you don't want to pay the said fileplanet sub because your not interested in the benefits it gives, this is fair enough and your personal choice, it does not however make the reasoning of CaesarGhost flawed. personally i'd love to have a full sub to fileplanet as i've used it for years, i've tried to get into beta of certain games but was rejected, if a fileplanet sub improves my chances even slightly then that alone would be worth it as there is always beta's coming out.
You mention paying for free trials, demos and beta tests being seen as a perk, this i assume is just what basic subscribers like myself see cause we're not payed subscription holders, just like in forums, if your public you see basic 2-4 threads, if your member you see member threads plus public ones, if your paying for a sub you see FULL content the site offers.
