in EVE Online
i played this game for 2 weeks, from my point of view i just cant understand why everyone thinks its so good...... from what i saw, there just isnt enough to do in the game, fighting is pointless, u dont get exp, u get ur skills trained for u, theres not much to do except do agent missions which involves watching the auto pilot for like 30 mins, or mining. i really cant see whats so good, can someone plz explain to me?

for the most part there is no way to figure out even .05% of the game in 2 weeks. My wife has been playing since Beta 4 and she's still learning new things everyday. I've been playing for about a month however, I know a lot about the game fromw atching her
Many people love the skill system here. It allows you to train while away from the computer. A lot of powergamers who don't know about EVE often complain about this. However, the powergaming comes into play by raising funds for the powerful modules and ships. There's no point to having super skills if you have no money to get anything to make those skills useful.
Many people love this game simply because there ISNT' ANY EXP. It breaks away from the boring, typical, mundane mold of mmorpgs having to leavel up to the nnext level. You dont have to kill 57 Wolves or 123 stone golems to hit lvl 9. You don't need to whack away endlessly for anpther level. EVE stayed away from the level treadmill and many of us are thankful for that.
Plus when you develope your skills you can travel much faster. For example, a frigate you are flying in may fly 250 m/s. I can hop into your same ship and go 5000 m/s. Also, there is much more than AGent or mining. You have to look for yourself. Also being in a corp helps
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I believe the reason so many people enjoy EVE is quite simpley the fact that it can be whatever you would like it to be.
The level of content and possibilites that are given to you to explore are staggering. Of the many games I have played over the years it is the most tailorable of any game set-up I have ever come across.
It is impossible for a person who enjoys exploring what any virtual world has to offer to ever get board in EVE.
I myself enjoy dabbling in a variety of areas. I enjoy hunting pirates, running courier missions, mining, manufacturing ships and trade goods, learning many different skills and so forth.
What the game has to offer is unique in the aspect that what you put into it is truely what you get out of it. That fact alone is more then enough for it be so popular among those who choose to play it.
The reason so many people have trouble with EVE is that the game requires alot of dedication on the part of the player to make the character unique. It isn't a game that you can play for a few weeks and master. Because of the advancement system in the game you have to use time management in order to reach certain goals.. I admit it does require alot of mining from time to time but it think of this in the same way most think of grinding levels in standard RGP games.
If you give EVE some time and chat to others in game you will learn that there is more to it then just mining or waiting for skills to train up.
Go read the topic "The Giant Misconception of EVE-Online". That's my opinion.
