I'm really sorry, but, if your spelling and grammar are any indication of whether or not you're in the right college, then I'd suggest changing colleges.

Generally, I'm not a participant in the whole "grammar police" thing on web forums, but in the context of college education, again I apologize, but I felt compelled.

I'll probably get flamed for even mentioning it, and I understand that sometimes people are in a hurry or just make simple mistakes, but when you're posting something on a public forum, checking your spelling and perhaps re-reading what you typed, are pretty helpful habits.

The hype meter is way down and frankly I'm happy for it. The less people that are interested in Aion the more likely it is I'll get chosen for one of those early-access events.

Make no mistake about it, when the game is close to coming out, no fanboy is going to be able to hurt the hype enough to stop this game's popularity. PlayNC is ridiculously successful with their products, hell even Lineage 1 is still up and going with dedicated subscribers.

Aion will take care of itself, don't worry so much. The hype meter is a glorified poll, nothing more. Once people get their fill of Warhammer, which probably won't take long, they'll all be clamoring for Aion news like the rest of us.

Yep. Not that hard to understand though, Diablo II still have major gamers and it's almost a decade old. If the game is good, people will play it no matter how dated it is. But that's a whole other subject.

No, perfect spelling and grammar do NOT "run the world," however, they certainly help in getting better GRADES, whether in high school or college.  If I had turned anything in to an English professor in university that looked like most things I see on web forums, I would have gotten a large red "F" on the paper.  Now, granted, I'm in my forties, so perhaps colleges no longer require knowing how to speak, spell, read, and write.  I have no idea.  Most degrees, "back in the day," required a decent grade in Freshman English, maybe that's no longer the case.

I said that I apologized for the comment.  I didn't particularly want to hurt anyone's feelings.  I also knew that I would be essentially "flamed" for expecting gamers to know how to spell.  Please forgive my lack of gaming forum "savvy."

I was simply pointing out, that when you communicate via any medium, with the public, it doesn't appear very educated for your writing to be full of errors, or if you're speaking to say "uhhhh" every other word, etc.  MY grammar is FAR from perfect.  I'm not without fault here.  Yet the conversation this referred to was about going to college.  I just thought it looked terrible for all of the college-centered comments to have such awful spelling in them, when there is a spell check option right here in the post editor.

Again, I apologize to anyone that I may have offended by having overly high expectations of people that are attending university.  To quote my teenage children, "My bad."  (Obviously, I haven't done very well teaching THEM grammar, so I really had no right to try to teach anyone else anything.)  When will I learn to just close the browser and go have a cup of coffee with some other "old people?"

as long as what you say/write is understandable most schools/colleges are not that hugely bother about spelling any more :)

i think its a bad idea, as now English/grammar has gone down the drain. in most English speaking countries.

foreign speaking countries have better grammar and spelling that the average British , American nowadays :( (i mean in in Japan doing business at college. i was born and educated in England and most people i know have better grammar and spelling than me,its embarrassing)

If only someone taught me better English when I was younger rather than tell me it was ok to have bad spelling I would have been ok, but the education system sucks atm and people go way to easy on younger kids.

So im kinda screwed in that department :(

Dude, this topic is 150% better now that we're talking about the English language.

Whoever told you it was okay to spell incorrectly needs to be shot. :)

Okay, I promise this will be my last comment. :D  LOL

Honestly, you hit the proverbial "nail on the head" here.  In this present world of absent parents (even those that are IN the home, yet emotionally absent, perhaps) parenting has, in some cases, taken a back seat to careers and sadly, to many other things as well.

My mother had begun teaching me to read and write a couple of years before I actually started school.  People depended on the school systems a lot LESS then.  Parents felt like teaching was not ONLY the teachers' responsibility, but a parental one.  They didn't expect schools to be accountable for their child's learning so much as they seem to now.

SgtFrog, you are obviously a very very bright young person.  I see a lot of amazingly intelligent people on gaming forums, truly.  I sure hope that I didn't offend you OR the poster to whom my first "grammar police" type comment was directed.  I truthfully didn't mean to be harsh or unkind.  (Can you tell I'm struggling with guilt now about what I said?  LOL)

Anyway, I love these forums, and the people who post here help to keep my mind active, regardless of their spelling and grammar, and for that....I am grateful.  Sometimes little "old people" just need to learn to keep their mouths shut, and learn from the younger generation.  There is plenty of "teaching" that goes both directions, and I don't ever want to become one of those elderly people that thinks they "know everything."  Wisdom is knowing that you ALWAYS have plenty to LEARN.

All of you people on MMOrpg and TenTonHammer both, are pretty wonderful. =D  Forgive me for being a putz.

And well, its pretty much another Lineage 2 clone, just with a better graphics enginee.

Thats why the hype is going down, cause people are starting to realize it.

And to the jackass saying its darkfall fanboys, lol at you. Thats just a really shit stupid wank post.

Lol you are obviously one of these ppl that don't do any research and just Watch videos' to get your Assumptions.

The game is nothing like a L2 clone, the leveling curve is nothing like L2, the graphics are superior to L2 and near on every other game on the market, the classes, character design, gameplay, theme, and just about everything else has nothing to do with L2. You ppl who like to rant shit like this make me laugh out loud.

The only stupid wank post here is your's!! im sorry to tell ya but there is a thing on the net called google us it and do a little study on Aion before spurting crap like this cause i for 1 and so many others are tired of the Bullshit you guys are spiting out, and this goes out to any 1 who blatently wants to sit there and tell me this game is gonna be a L2 clone and a grind get ya facts straight then come see me with some constructive insight but till then how about you stop wasting every one's time with your mindless dribble.
