/level: A Beautiful Feature?

Will it be implemented?

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Dark Age of Camelot had a command, /level, that raised your character to level 20 immediately.  However, the command was only available to you if you already had a level 50 (the max level) on that server.

I would expect something similar, especially with the lack of a keep in the RvR zone and rather limited and easy content in Tier 1.

I would personally prefer the /level command to bring you to level 10 and open the flight path to Tier 2.

What do you guys think?

No, because it would make the lower lvls barren for newcomers.

The leveling in this game is quite a bit quicker than DAoC ever was. I doubt you'll have the need to /level a 30. But you never know. I would be surprised if they put it in. And before someone corrects me, there was a /level 20 and a /level 30 option.

It was a really excellent way to try out a new class before commiting to it, but,  it had the unwanted side effect of a massive amount of mid lvl characters running around with absolutely zero idea of how to play their class, ruined pvp in that lvl range entirely. You guys think PUG's are bad now? Try a mid 30 PUG in DAoC, that, was bad. Got to the point where noone wanted to let anyone between the lvls of 30-32 join any groups because it was automatically assumed they were completely clueless and lacked the ability to fill the role that was needed by that class in the group.

I think there would still be those who didn't use the feature so as to help out in the overall war effort by assisting T1.

Anyway, some interesting results so far.

I voted no. Since I have not played DAoC I have to go with just my preference in game play as a basis. I like to be able to get attached to one character that I can perfect, and when other people see me they will know that I am a main and not one of many alts. Allowing people to speed past 10 levels seems to just add to the problem of people having several alts, and not actually perfecting any of them. This is one reason why I have problems with WoW. The leveling is so easy, and evreyone has half a dozen alts. This is one reason why I respect eve online, because since you can only train skills one one character at a time it is more likely that you are talking to someones main account, because only those that want to play for 2 subs cans train more then one character. I do have other issues with eve so I don't play that anymore either, but I think it made a good example.

I do not support anything that helps people make more alts, and not learn how to play their character. Let them suffer through those first few levels, and actually learn how to play.

Sadly i doubt it can work with this game. For one simple reason. Public quests

Lol, you really think you're helping more by being in T1 instead of in T4?

Leveling through T1 is a breeze so I really don't see any point to this.

And besides, you can go to your flightmaster right from the start - just follow the main road (usually) and poof - you're there and the whole game is yours for grabs.

yes if same race as the lvl 50 one, no otherwise.

each race has diferent content, so the path is diferent and fun in my opinion.

Aion, AoC, AC, AO, DDO, Eve, Eq2, GW, MW3, L1&2, RF, RIFT, SWG, SWTOR, TR, UO, WOW, WAR

    It's a stupid idea...

You'll have people running around high T2 as targets even for lower level people of the other realm to just pick off because they dont have 20 levels of experience playing a class, which would also piss off the people that enjoy winning scenarios.

As someone who /level-ed about a half dozen characters: no. /level is a command you put into a game with a shrinking subscriber base where the real gameplay starts at max level. WAR's not even started yet, and there's considerable content in every tier.

In DAOC PvP didn't really happen till level 20.  Mythic knew the game was boring till about level 20 for veteran players.  So they remedied the situation with the /level.

WAR has pvp at level 1+.  The quest are much better in that game, and players contribute starting at level 1.  Like WoW & COH, I believe the newbie areas will always be populated.
