Vanguard Trial Isle Problem

So I finally got the trial isle, and let me say, the graphics blew me away.. probably because I upgraded my rig since I last played the game back at release, and partly because they seem to be showcasing the best of Vanguard here. Anyway, the game is beautiful,t he character models are.. kind of stiff, I mean, they look alot better now, than before, but the animations are slow as hell. Anyway, my main problem is Ill just be exploring the world and everything will go black except the ui and mouse. I mean, it happened on two different characters after ten minutes, anyone ever hear of this and know the solution?

Here is what the game looks like when I can actually play it:

I figured it out from messing with the settings, someone said turn off hd, I took that to mean turn of higher quality. I switched from highest quality graphics to high and it works fine now :)

(edit: I further narrowed it down, under bloom effect, are two dynamic and tone mapped lighting settings, I can only chose one or the other. Black screen happens if I have both enabled for too long.

Also I kind of hate the default music while playing, so I put on my own fantasy music, mostly Loreena Mckennitt, who has some great wiccan and celtic music. Fun to play now.

Yes, just put winamp in the background and load up or minamize and pick songs. I left the ambient music at about a quarter because some of the sounds in it were soothing.

That reminds me that I managed to fall into water in Khal and everything was black beside UI and mouse.

After some twiddling it was HDR and screen went black if camera was under water. Kinda strange I know.

I disabled and no similar problem so far.

I had exactly the same problem and when I mentioned it in game all the elitists started telling me it was my computer and that my graphics card was faulty. I must say its a pretty odd bunch on this Vanguard game.

Anyway I sort of figured it out for myself like you did. May I ask what the specs for your computer are because those screenshots look quite nice but on mine they look pretty dreadful and the game also lags like a bitch. Its playable but only just as the game stutters and stumbles nearly every time I turn around. Also the graphics look very flat, blocky & muddly to me, making it hard to get a sense of depth.......lack of shadows on objects doesnt help this. When I get home I'm gonna fiddle round with the draw distance too.

Oh and my spec is Pentium 4, Ghz 3.4, GeForce 7900 GS, 1.5 MB ram.

I realise the ram might not be quite up to scratch (another 1mb needed?) but I would have thought the rest of the setup would have been more than adequate.

Any chance you could post your specs so I can get a rough idea of the visual quality I should be aiming for on mine?
