Vista question?

InjerinInjerin Member Posts: 63

Hey anyone out there know if I install the latest nvidia drivers for my grafix card, will it screw up my control panel in vista? this happened to me earlier and I had to re-install Vista. Now the only difference is that I have SP1 installed. Didn't have it before due to NOT knowing about it :P

All help would be apreciated! thanx

hmm... that stinks... all i know is that it will screw up your system if, say, you download the updates for xp. are you sure the driver updates were for vista and not xp?

Nah it shouldn't do anything.i have been using updated drivers for Nvidia for man many many years and never had a problem outside of messing up games.Microsoft's certification standards are a joke,i give them zero credit for accomplishing anything.Just keep in mind that some drivers may mess up a prgram or game alogn the way. There is for example only one good driver for my FFXI and its several issues back and each one comes out different on my unreral tournament. If you ever have a problem with a driver ,just remove it,windows may have to restart in some compatible mode if you don't know what you are doing, but that's fine just go and D/L the one before if it worked for you.

You can just go into system/display driver and update driver with an older one ,some people frown on this ,but it's rarely a problem,as some think you will have many drivers still on your system causing problems, hardly ever the case.I have the latest and it and many others really offer nothing to performance,my last 4-5  of them have actually messed up my unreal tournament.I know they have been trying to get more SLI and quad support so that's about the only reason you may need an updated driver.
