WotLK launches, WAR will have many ghost servers. I don't think WAR's approach, providing a dumbed down version of WoW is going to keep subs. If you're going to stay in WAR long time, my advice is to roll on the highest pop server you can find.

I just never understood why everyone has to pick one thing and say its the best. Everything has strengths. People always seem to like one thing better than another. to a fanboy wow will always have 10 million..we all know that war is a more enjoyable game and thats all that matters.
I seriously doubt WAR will make *that* big of an impact on WoW. Not every WoW player likes Warhammer. Not every Warhammer player likes MMORPG games - or online games in general for that matter. Sure it will be popular.. but WoW will most definately survive this storm - who knows, maybe it could turn out to be just a little rain like every other WoW killer.

But yes, they did remove a certain degree of stupidity from their PvE, so I guess that means it's dumbed down as in the dumb factor was lessened.
What Warcraft was like 3 years ago is irrelevant. Warhammer is competing with Warcraft as it is today. It is not like WoW is going to disable all the features it put in over the last 3 years to be fair or something.

LOL !!!! This is the funniest thing I have ever seen . I have played Warcraft and I have known Warcraft for about 3 years now and Warhammer you sir are no Warcraft.
I want a good game to come along to compete with WOW but Warhammer is not even close. In fact I would be willing to bet that from this point forward we will see a huge drop off in warhammer subs. What about CoH/V, or EVE, or The sage of Ryzom(never played it but it sounds like its one of the great games currently out). I agree that LOTRO is a well balanced mmorpg but not the best. Im sorry to brake it to u but I have been playing lotro since closed beta and finally quit the damn thing. The game masters are just too slow on keeping us intrested. Once MoM comes out the subs will spike, but go right back down.

Well, the first part is exactly what I wanted to say.
I want a GOOD game to come along to compete with WOW and indeed Warhammer is not even close.
It doesn't even matter to make an extensive review of War because every normal person will come to the exact same conclusion when playing it after a few days/weeks (depending on their expertise and former knowledge of MMO's).
It won't be the biggest flop in MMO history as so much worse XXX has preceded it, but I don't see a normal adult person paying to play “advanced dumber CS" beyond the first two months.
I would even say that someone who likes this kind of MMO stopped intellectually at the age of 12 and even this is an insult to the normal boys/girls of 1996.
